I have used a professional double boiler setup for years. I found this melting pot by accident and thought I would give it a try. The compact size is great for small batches and it is simple and quick to use.

I resisted. I'm experimenting making mustache waxes. This involves melting beeswax in a double boiler. I told myself I had sufficient kitchen supplies to do the job. But my various jury-rigged approaches all fell short, and when I broke a handleless beaker, I decided it was time for this product. There are several similar (identical?) products on Amazon. This was one of the least expensive. It's well made and fits perfectly in my 0.75L MadeIn butter warmer. The job is so much easier and much faster. I'm convinced!

Tested this little guy out last night for melting some white chocolate. It sat nicely inside my own small pot underneath it and surprised me that it stayed sitting in the pot because it felt rather light when I first looked at it. I knew it was going to be small, but I didn’t think it would be this small but again that’s my own fault for not paying attention to the measurements which show the exterior measurements, not the interior measurements. The handle stayed relatively cool and when the water started boiling in my pot. I was concerned since this is not very heavy that boiling water might Lyft and move it but it didn’t disturb this little double boiler. It was very easy to clean under hot water And does feel sturdy enough for this purpose. One note for first timers like I am, do not keep the water boiling the whole time. If any water gets into your chocolate, it will make it seize up and not work as you hope it will. It will get big lumps in it even if it’s still warm enough to be melted. Turn the heat down when you just have a few lumps in your chocolate and just keep stirring it. Do not keep it on high the whole time like I did. I definitely recommend this little pot. And it certainly is going to be helpful for someone who only does melting chocolate occasionally. I think if I was going to do this frequently, I would buy either a little bigger one or one that has a small pot that fits exactly inside a little bit bigger pot on the bottom. and maybe one that has a handle that stays 100% cool. I’m glad I bought it, It’s certainly a bargain price and opportunity for a beginner to see if they like melting, chocolate and possible craft usages and I’m sure it will last a long time into the future.
