When I found this adorable little light in modern light fixtures on Amazon it appeared to be the perfect accent piece to our Mid Century Modern/Modern décor. Little did I know that this cute little Sputnik light would become the Death Star. The assembly took nearly one hour of maneuvering washers and nuts through a tiny orifice that only an Ewok could enter. Excitedly all the pieces are in place and adjusted and it is finally time to launch our little satellite to the ceiling. We get it to the ceiling only to find that the two machine screws that hold the fixture to the mounting bracket were missing, so there is no way that it is going to stay in orbit. I go to my garage and I find two screws that will work. Back to the mission, I findthat the flimsy construction of the mounting bracket makes the alignment of the bracket, the machine screws and the ceiling cover very difficult. Forty minutes of tweaking and maneuvering one screw was finally threaded into place. Time to move to the opposite side and thread screw number two into place. At this point you have the transformer that you must maneuver around because it only fits into the mounting canopy at a diagonal and it is not mounted to anything so you have to careful that it is not blocking the insertion of the machine screws that hold everything to the ceiling. All parts appear to be aligned and I insert the second machine screw as I hear a thunderous crack and I find myself plummeting towards terra firma. In the back of my mind I thought I was gripping a lifeline and I would be ok, but I actually only had the light pendants cord in my grasp-which unfortunately isn't rated to support two hundred pounds. The loud crack that I heard was my stepstools hinge coming apart. The loud crack was followed by dull thud as I hit the floor a scream from my spouse as she rushed over to administer triage and lastly a few Klingon curse words. In the aftermath, I was fine other that a bruise and my wife didn't suffer a heart attack and best news was that our little satellite was a no more.1. The light is in many pieces and it is a real task to assemble.2. The end caps on the light arms are white and not chrome as the rest of the pieces making a incongruent contrast.3. The mounting bracket is junk4. The transformer is not affixed to anything and is almost too large for the housing.5. The LED's are not dimmer rated. There was no mention of this in the items description. When testing to make sure the wire nuts were tight, we switched on the power before we finished mounting the light and found that it wouldn't dim.If our little satellite had not crashed, I would of returned it. I could live with the white/chrome issue, but not being able to dim a light at our breakfast bar would of been a real deal breaker- no matter how much we liked it. In the end I did not get seriously hurt and we found one just like it at Menards, albeit slightly more expensive. Our replacement has light bars that are capped in matching chrome, the transformer is smaller and it is mounted, the light was preassembled and most importantly it dims and we love it

Love the look of this fixture. Very modern. I purchased two of these. One in my front entrance and one in my hallway

It was medium difficulty in putting together. I was not familiar with German wire coloring. Blue to White and Red to Black. Insert the wires in the black plastic connector box. Don't forget the ground as well. But it all worked out and I am pleased with it. My entire house has gone modern/mid-century and fits well with my decor. It doesn't look cheap when installed. The metal isn't cheap at all and has a heavy feeling. The lamp is warm to touch when lit. I think the plastics involved make it appear that way (in the box at least). This is definitely a personal taste item and I am very pleased with it.

Product is as described. Good quality. Installation takes about 30 minutes if you're a bit handy. Recommended.

Fantastic LED light. I have had this light for a few months now and it is still working great and is very cool looking. I have little to no electrical experience and this light was simple to install, but not simple to assemble. Total install and assembly time was about 2 hours. Very pleased.
