I have dozens and dozens of eneloop batteries. They always treat me right. I've only ever had a few go bad, and I have quite a few that have been going strong for years. Yes, they do lose a little capacity after a time, but even when I need to purchase new ones, the cost savings over all the non-rechargeable ones I would have had to purchase is well worth it!

These Eneloop Panasonic rechargeable batteries are the best for wireless home phone sets . Batteries recharge on its own when phone is placed back to its handset and have a long lasting capacity while on use or away from the charging base.

I have been slowly been purchasing these Eneloop Panasonic rechargeable batteries in AA and AAA to replace any other batteries as these little suckers stay charged a very long time and recharge fast with the Eneloop charger. I use them in my tv remote my smoke / fire alarms my thermostats / humidistats and they work flawlessly in everything I have put them in.These are literally worth their price and is one of those cases of you get what you pay for as these are exceptional batteries and I expect that is why they cost more than most other brands.

I have used Eneloop batteries in both AAA and AA versions for well over 15 years. They hold a charge for a very long time and are very safe: i.e. they don't ever catch fire. Many of my batteries have been recharged for hundreds of times and they are all 100% serviceable after all these years. They also appear to never leak if left in a device. Finally, I can't even calculate the amount of money I have saved with these terrific products.
