This little device is going to be fun tinkering and exploring with. I haven’t programmed a microcontroller since my uni days many years ago. Technology has come a long way since then and so much cheaper too.I have a few development ideas for the future to try out. But to get started I’ll just play with it to get a handle on how it all works and what you can do with it. Mine came in a little Waveshare branded box with no information. But all documentation and instructions are on the Waveshare site, so no problem there. If the box wasn’t branded some people may not be aware where to go.For the price and the huge amount of tech packed in this one little device it is an absolute bargain. It's for the tech-heads though.

This is great for the tinkerer. The display is clear and vibrant. You'll need to know what you are doing to get started with this. They give you a great getting started tutorial with Arduino IDE.The built-in RGB is nice, but really not all that important to me. My project is to get this to pretend to be a remote control that sends commands to my projector. It's ambitious, but totally doable.

This ESP32-S3 microcontroller was easy to program in the Visual Studio Code and Arduino IDE. Documentation could be found on the manufacturer's website as far as parameters for their individual IDEs and what settings were needed to communicate with the microcontroller. I had no issues erasing the program on the microcontroller and reprogramming it.

This is an ESP32-S3-based microcontroller with many interesting features, all in a very compact form factor. The integrated USB-A plug makes it convenient for programming and powering. The board looks well-made, the pins are labelled, and there are integrated standoffs for mounting it into a case. I'm not sure what project I'll use this for, but with all these features, I'll have many options to explore. At the time of this review, it's priced at $27.83, which I feel is fair for what you get.
