By putting it directly onto the blades after each use or by putting this onto a sheet of paper and then running it through your machineThis oil is the top quality you would expect from a company like fellows and comes it a handy little bottle with a useful nozzle head to be able to use it with easeIn our house we have the shredder running two or three times a week and after a year, this bottle is barely half usedReally recommended this product. Don't use your shredder without it
