This is my first experience with fully customizable light bulbs, and I was a bit skeptical on how useful they would be. However, once I installed one and set it up, I was blown away. I can fully adjust the coolness level, brightness level and actual color of the light using a full color pallet. Great! Installation was a breeze if you are used to doing a little interpretation of the typical instructions. The Smart Home app picked it up right away and within a few minutes, Alexa had control. I installed one in my wife’s reading lamp and she loves it. Best thing, I can turn the light off when she gets up and leaves it on! I have messed with the color only for testing purposes and it works great and is actually pretty cool, one of those things you will make yourself find a use for. So, easy to install, incredibly tunable, integrates easily with Alexia and sells for a very fair price. An absolutely great value from a good company. They are quick to respond to questions and comments (I left them a message telling them how much I enjoyed their product) ad heard back immediately. One of the best things is the brains are in the bulb, ot in an external switch.

This is so nice that it connects to the Amazon Alexa/echo dots. It’s so cool to change the color in an instantThis was extremely hard for me to install other friends that have this it was seamless but for me for some reason it would not connect… So what I did was I had to fool the app and didn’t go by the exact instructions as those were not working… It kept saying I might need to downgrade my Wi-Fi megahertz but I never did that and I ended up getting it up and running… I was so happy I did a happy dance. So do not give up if it’s not connecting there are different settings with fast blinking and slow blinking even though it was fast blinking and it was not working I chose slow blinking and low and behold it connected to the special Wi-Fi inside the bulb.Once it’s up and running it’s pretty awesome I just wish it connected to Amazon Alexa immediately without having to go through the app… But the app is what makes it where you can change your desired color other than telling Alexa to make it red orange yellow purple green… Etc.… The app lets you literally choose any color on the spectrum that you like

I placed these SMART bulbs in my ceiling fan in my bedroom. As this was the only light source in my bedroom, I was looking for something that I could change the brightness levels and control without leaving my bed. I did have a slightly difficult time initially with the set-up, but this is something I was willing to work though because of the excellent price point. After successfully pairing the lights and grouping them together, I am able to control the brightness, color, "warmth" level of all 3 lights at once both through my iPhone app as well as through the Alexa app/device that I also have in my bedroom. It has been fun to see how many different colors I can get Alexa to change the bulbs to - and I am sure there are some that I haven't come across yet. Replacing these light bulbs in my ceiling fan was much easier than installing a dimmer switch for the lights that I had previously, and as an added bonus, they are now voice activated and can change colors! As long as you are willing to carefully read the directions, and also have a little "tech" savvyness, you will have no issues getting these lights to work just as you would like. Great product for a great value!

These lights are great. They are energy efficient. They can be controlled via the smart life app or alexa or Google home. They are easy to set up. Confirm your phone/tablet is connected to a 2.4hz wifi network. 1. Install the Smart Life app from the app store and open it. 2. Click the plus button in the top right. 3. Click the Add Manually section at the top (It should already be the default). 4. Click the word "Lighting" on the far left. 5. Click The light bulb that says "Lighting" (Wifi). 6. Install the light. 7. Turn the light On-Off-On-Off-On. 8. Wait ten seconds or so and they will start blinking. 9. Click the large button that says "Confirm your light in blinking rapidly." You're done. The light will be "found," "connected," and "initialize" automatically. Simply give your light a unique name. (Lets say you have multiple lights in one fixture and you've named each light, "Kitchen Light." You can group them together in the Alexa app, which I'll explain later.) You can now control your lights from the smart life app.-Keep your lights on.- If you have the Alexa app set up already and "smart life" skill enabled, Alexa will automatically recognize your new lights and you will be able to voice control them by name.-Keep your lights on- If you do not have the Alexa app set up yet you will need to complete a couple simple steps. To get your lights to work with Alexa you will need to enable the "Smart Life" skill in your Alexa app. 1. Do this by going to the Alexa app home screen and clicking the three lines in the top left. 2. Go to skills and games. 3. Go to the search symbol and type in "Smart Life." 4. Enable Skill.Once you do this go back to the Alexa app Home screen and 1. click the three lines at the top again. 2. Click add device. 3. Click Light. 4. Scroll all the way down to "Other." 5. Click Discover devices. As long as your lights are on and you have followed all the previous steps properly, Alexa will find your lights by the unique names you gave them earlier.Okay, so let's say you have 3 lights or more in the same fixture. It's okay to name them all "Kitchen Light" or whatever you like. They can all be the same, because we can use Alexa to create a group. 1. Go to the Alexa app home page. 2. Click Devices in the bottom right. 3. Click the + button in the top right of the screen. 4. Click "Add Group." 5. Give the group a name that you will use to control multiple individual lights. 6. Add the lights from the list that will be available below by simply clicking each one of them. 7. After you have selected all the devices, click save. Voila.A couple notes. I know this sounds a little complicated but that's only because I literally broke it down piece by piece for those who may not be technologically adept. It's very easy, especially after you do it a couple times. Also, to turn every smart light you have installed off, you do not need to create a group in Alexa. Simply say, "Alexa, turn off all of the lights."Hope this review helps prospective buyers

The best thing about these bulbs is they don't need a hub. But you need to have a Wifi router than can broadcast the 2.4Ghz channel under it's own network name.It appears the Smart Bulb industry has matured to the point you can get a decent quality, reliable product that is easy to setup at a low price now. The white color can be fine tuned to your liking (warm to cool) and the color mode colors are vibrant with very fine tune controls. It appears this bulb is sold under several different names (they all come in the dark blue boxes) and they all use the "Smart Life" app which I believe is made by Tuya, which may also be the manufacturer of the bulb (not sure). Why no 5 stars? I am a Software Developer of 20 years and the app, while functional, has some issues, none of them deal breakers but a bit irrirating. Like most things these days, it's all about the software (from our phones, to our cars, to our TVs) You can have a well-engineered hardware product with great specs, but if the software is poorly designed it doesn't matter how good your big screen LED panel is, for example. Here are the things you may find frustrating about the software app to control the lights, at least at the time of this writing:#1 You can't create scenes (aka scenarios) or automations that change the color of the bulb! You can only switch between white mode and color mode in which case it will use the settings you used the last time you were in color mode and the only way to change the color is manually in the app. So there's no way to create a scene that changes the bulbs to red if the color they were last on was green (like if you wanted to switch between your sports team colors and Christmas colors with one button push.)#2 If you create a scene, or automation that changes the brightness or color temperature of the bulb when the bulb is in color mode, the bulb will change to white mode. So there's no way to control the brightness via a scene or automation for any colors other than white. You have to do it manually. If you use the group function to group the bulbs in groups, it makes it easier to do this than changing each bulb individually while in color mode.Other than that, the app works pretty well. What is interesting is that my Google Home / Assistant CAN change my bulbs colors and color brightness using voice commands like "Hey Google, change the lights to red" or while in color mode, "Hey Google, set light brightness to 40%"One other flaw in the software is that, you can create a scene/automation that gradually dims or increases the brightness over time using the time lapse/delay function, BUT, it doesn't work for a wake up light sunrise effect very well. if you wake up before it's gone through all the steps in increasing the lighting and you use the app to turn off the bulb (if your sleep mate is getting up later), the automation keeps running and the light briefly flashes each time the next brightness step is executed. So the automation isn't aware you turned the light off, and even though it's only running a step to increase brightness, not turn the light on, it flashes and the app remembers after that you turned the light off and turns it back off. Very strange. The other thing is there are at least three versions of this app: Smart Life, Swift Smart Life, and Tuya Smart (or something like that) they are all the same app. The main one that most people use, Smart Life, the manufacturer must have not paid their translators well because the time delay step in the automation is called "Time Left" and scenes are called "Scenarios" where on the other two versions they got the wording more correct.I think for the average person these are a better value for the money then the more expensive well-known name brand smart bulbs. Hopefully they will improve the software down the road, resulting in a 5-star instead of 4-star rating (at least from me.)
