Very good filters, dependable, easy to grip and tighten (and loosen!). I have used this model on my Honda for several years.

Delivered in a nice box. Is painted nicely on the outside. Has the expected part number TG7317 on the outside of the filter. Will it perform as expected? Time will tell.

some fram filters do not get very good reviews. the tough guard seem to be 1 of the exceptions and it seems to do its job

These little Fram filters are becoming the standard replacement filter as they perform well and are affordable. I prefer the tough guard product line as I believe it provides better protection for real-world conditions. Fram has always gotten a bad rap because of their cheapo orange filters, although the tough guard and other premium filters within their product line are great. I really like the added texture to the end of the filter which makes it very easy to unscrew even with greasy hands. I've never been a fan of using a filter wrench because either they don't fit or they're a pain to use. This filter goes on easy & comes off easy. I've been using this TG7317 on my Honda products for years. Its nice that a manufacturer uses a standard size for multiple vehicles & motors. I will be continuing to buy these and never have had any issues. As background, I've rebuilt engines myself (due to high mileage and age) and continue to use these Fram filters.

I was in the Honda dealership in Kingman, Arizona having routine maintenance done on my 2009 Civic LX. Honda checked my engine and in-cabin air filters and showed me that BOTH were dirty and needed replacing. I told them to go ahead and replace them. The service rep said replacing both filters typically costs about $105.00.I immediately told him to skip changing the filters. $105? I couldn't believe replacement filters were that much.We stopped by WalMart on the way home to check their prices for replacements. $35.00 for both.I've bought auto parts from Amazon before and saved a ton of money, so I checked their prices. I got both air filters PLUS an oil filter (which I'll eventually need) for $29.00. All products were eligible for free shipping (and no sales tax). Guess what? I just saved almost 25% by not buying from my local Kingman WalMart, AND I got a good Fram oil filter to boot!Lessons learned...1) DON'T BUY ANYTHING other than service from a Honda dealership. Their markup is ludicrous.2) Unless you need it NOW, DON'T BUY ANYTHING from WalMart that you can get at Amazon. You'll save a bundle - cheaper prices, no sales tax, and no gas used to go shopping!
