This shade looks and feels sturdy and high end. It slides nicely into the car and shades the trunk perfectly. I like that it hides my items from nosy viewers and also that it shades my cooler and other items, helping them stay out of the sun. It's waterproof so if you open your trunk in the rain you're A-OK and it's easy to wipe clean if your doggo likes to drool over the back of the seat. Overall good buy.

This leaves a big gap on the sides and the back door where you can clearly see in. I do not recommend.

I partially blame Ford for this review. Ford had a perfectly good design and of course, like many other things on the Ford Escape, they totally screwed it up in the newer models. IF you made the mistake of buying a newer Escape, then technically, this cargo cover gets the job done, but it's difficult to install.If you don't get the cover perfectly snapped into place on the 2 little seat hangers, it will fall off (and it's not easy to get them snapped in). The seat hangers are not super sturdy, they kind of move around no matter how tight you get the little screws. Also, don't plan on putting the back seats down flat with the cover on. You might be able to get both seats down with 2 people, but one seat at a time will not work. The cover also is not a perfect fit. The part that you pull back to click in the holders is a little too wide so you have to tilt it to an angle to get it to fit.
