tl;dr - This is a great set at a great price.This is a great value for an quality notebook with an embossed PU Leather cover. Notebook is a standard sized A5 journal with 200 pages, the pages alternate between two tones an off white and a sepia. They are in blocks of twenty sheets, so overall ~60 sheets of off-white and 40 sheets of the sepia-like.Those groups appear to be the individual binding sections as well. On that note, it appears to be bound with case binding - which is actually pretty great at this price point.The paper is relatively thick and is ruled at 8mm. The rules are 122mm long with a margin of about 10mm on the sides. The header is about 19mm and has a printed area marked for page-dating that is formatter to the 'outside' edges. Leaving plenty of space for a page title if desired. Footer space is about 8mm, however the last printed rule above this area has a scroll ornament centered on the line. So the whole footer area is about 17mm. That leaves 177mm (22 lines) of vertical space for your notes.The pen holder is also faux leather with an elastic band that can be placed around the entire book for keeping it closed. Its a nice add and is better than the small elastic tab that a lot of these small journals use as a pen holder.The pen is a good heavy weight. It has a good quality feel. I don't love the included ink, but it takes a pretty standard sized refill so easy to swap out with your favorite ink. Honestly, at this price point, the included ink is quite decent.

This is a UNIQUE journal/notebook inside and out. The external is a faux embossed image of a ferocious dragon. Inside there are some 200 pages of two different designs that are made to look sort of like old weathered texts. There is EVEN A PEN INCLUDED. And not a bad one at that, it writes smooth and tucks right into the notebook so you always have it at hand. The notebook is hefty and well made, it is functionally a hardcover with that binding pattern, as opposed to those leather notebooks that just sort of flop open this one will hold its shape. Very interesting design inside and out. The choice of paper design isn't obtrusive and doesn't get in the way of writing, it just adds an additional element. The aesthetic choice of the embossed cover is STUNNING, and will definitely attract attention as well. Definitely a fan...
