This couldn't have been more perfect for my nephew. He's turning 5 this year and all boy! He loves his trucks, tractors and cars! Pretty much anything with wheels. We are putting together a playroom for him but the floors are all hardwood so, instead of getting a plain drab rug to put down I got this instead. Now he'll have a rug to play on that's actually useful and fun. It kind of reminds me of one of those thin to medium thickness bathroom rugs with the rubber non slip bottoms. You could always add a pad underneath if more padding is needed. The material is super soft and plush. Matter of fact, we couldn’t get him to put his socks on because he wanted to feel the softness of the rug! The pattern is printed on and you will notice if you brush your hand across it in the opposite direction the print will break up a little and not be as bold which is normal for a printed rug. However, the quality of print is very good. The colors are bright and vivid, and the print is very detailed. Also, the edge of the rug is sewn and serged to give it more durability and that finished look. Being a thinner lightweight rug will make it easier on your machine to wash it, especially for its size. I have not put it to the wash test yet and will report on this at a later date. As of now, We love it! Couldn't have been a more perfect solution.

I'm impressed with this play rug. The rug itself is what I would consider a medium weight and has a non slip backing. The race track image is crisp with vivid colors that are attractive to kids. Matchbox/Hot wheels style cars are a perfect size; they match up witht he "parked cars" and they move along the rug surface easily. I have this rug in our church nursery room and there are not issues with scuffed up knees or clothes from rough fabric. It's only been a couple weeks, but the rug is holding up quite nicely, no curling corners or slipping around. I would say it's worth the price.
