I have old cheap Porter Cable hand tools with magnetic extra bit holders built-in. I used them all the time. Then I bought nice DeWalt tools and discovered I was annoyed to not have an easy way to carry a few extra different bits for use with encountering different fasteners. So I ordered this, unscrewed the belt clip, and screwed it to a belt clip on the side of my drill. Viola, back in business. The magnets are nice and strong.✅ For what it's worth, the belt clip on these is a really good design. It opens and closes so you don't need to feed a belt through, and it has an adjustable bracket inside that lets you match it snugly to the width of your belt. Finally, it has a lock to keep it from falling open.

Find these magnetic holders pretty usefful. On the top is a mechanical on and off switch, which you toggle and then press down, allowing you to fold down the and slide it over a belt. This mechanism to put it onn the belt is smooth and satisfyingly locks in place. It feels very sturdy once it's onThe magnet itself holds tools fairly well. It held a 22 oz framing hammer with no problem. It works well with tools that have flat areas like channel locks, hammer, crescent wrenches. Not as well with tools that are rounded. I wouldn't expect this to hold up a drill well. The magnets are embedded in a plastic puck, which is covered with a rubber cover. I used it to hold some screws and the rubber was some what snagged on a few of them. Very minor but I think the cover will wear eventually, however I expect a reasonable life span out of it .All in all a very useful and pretty well-built little tool holder
