I used these connectors for my chartplotters and my own custom cable, and they work great. They're watertight, so perfect for marine use. Just make sure to lube the cable to make installation easier. The strain relief is a bit longer than on molded products, but it still works fine. Overall, a solid choice for securing your network connections!

You will need an ethernet cable crimping tool for this. It's fairly tricky to get all the wires aligned and into the correct slots.If you're only cutting one end off your cable - try to make it the A end - you can determine that from the instructions. It is WAY easier to do the A end, rather than the B end. On the A end, all the twisted pair wires are side by side. On the B end, you end up having to stretch 2 of the twisted pairs across to be between another 2 wires - more difficult.Just be patient, follow the instructions very carefully and buy a crimping tool.
