I've owned many softboxes but this is my first lantern style box. It's more directional than using a white umbrella but softer and more omnidirectional than a standard softbox. I use it as a key light for YouTube videos and it's a level more flattering to a "mature" face than my 26" softbox.The mechanical design is impressive: nothing to assemble, just press down to hook the center support into the latch and it's done. The most difficult part was installing on my Godox COB video light—had to open the lantern and hold the Bowens mount to stop it from rotating so I could lock it in. Build is sturdy—better than any softbox I've owned.My only beef has nothing to do with Godox or the wonderful light this softbox provides. I received an obviously used and return item. The softbox was okay but the carrying case packaging was missing and it had the stickers torn off (glue and paper remaining). Even more strangely, inside the bag were instruction manuals for a Neewer COB video light, I assume belonging to the prior owner! I waited 3 weeks and received a used light for a new price. Five stars for Godox and no stars to the provider...
