We needed a scale to determine breast feedings and weight gain. This scale is precise and accurate to determine how much the baby is getting after a feed. I would recommend you get this scale.

As promised and easy to use. We are tracking the weight of two elderly cats, plus using for shipping packages where weight must be accurate. Perfect for all needs.

I purchased this scale to weigh kittens that I foster and my own cats, too. Weights are crucial for dosing certain medications. This won't work for tiny kittens who need to measured in grams, but I have a kitchen scale for that purpose (no biggie). This scale is specifically for the bigger kittens and adult cats. I have owned it for over a year, and I have used it many times. It requires 4 - AAA batteries, but they last a long time. The top wide plate is removable, and the scale can be used with or without it. I kept the original box because it was packaged very well from the factory - I kept all the packaging and pack it away when it isn't needed. It takes less than two minutes to "unpack" and setup. I highly recommend this for young/small animals - if you need their weights often!! And if you have a human baby... all the same stuff applies. I would recommend it for human babies, too! I had a lactation consultant come over to do a weighted feed and she compared this scale to her $2k+ hospital-grade scale. There was only a .5 ounce difference between this scale and hers. She suggested that it isn’t accurate enough for weighted feeds, but I could use it once a week to weigh my baby to see if her weight is generally moving in the right direction.
