I got this item for free, the following is my honest and unbiased review.My wife and I are taking a trip to SE Asia and we expect to purchase the occasional souvenir. This Grio packable backpack is compact when packed into the integral interior zipper pocket, but is able to carry a small amount of stuff when deployed. It is made of thin material, similar to what would be used to make a tent or windbreaker jacket, and seems to have some sort of liner/coating on the inside. It has one exterior vertical zip pocket and two rather small side mesh pockets. The main carry compartment has a dual-zipper opening. Inside the main compartment is a separate hanging zipper pocket, that doubles as the storage bag when this backpack is folded up. There is a hang loop at the top of the backpack. The shoulder straps have no padding however at least they are layered. The adjustable portions are of standard size.I like the integral storage pouch idea, but that convenience gives the resultant package a somewhat larger footprint. In the photos I compare this product to a similar competitive product that has similar features but stows into a separate drawstring pouch. Note how this product is a bit more bulky (versus the competition) when folded into the integral internal carry pouch. For fairness and comparison, I also tried packing this product into a black drawstring pouch that I had lying around. While the result is not quite as compact as the competition, it comes close, and approaches "pocketable".I see this backpack as a good balance between lightness versus durability. It should serve well as an emergency backpack.

Folds up into a tiny square.I have another backpack that I used for hiking but it was huge in comparison. Honestly, a bit TOO big as there was always tons of unused space when we went hiking.This one is big enough to carry everything you need for a day hike while being super lightweight and well organized.It folds up into its own zippered pouch similar to the way a good hammock does, making it super easy to store on the shelf.This takes up FAR less room on the shelf than my other backpack.It seems to be made of a durable material and has worked great for the 2 hikes we've used it on so far.Plenty of room for what we typically carry on a day hike (water, trail mix, first aid kit, etc).Very pleased with thisRecommended if you like taking day hikes.

Nice and well made backpack - perfect design to accommodate enough 'stuff' for a day out but without being too large and heavy. Comfortable to wear over one or both shoulders. I use it for long dog walks to keep bags, extra leads, water and treats.Really like the colours as well, the gray blue is nicer than I expected.

I'm about to go backpacking around Central America and have been on the lookout for a small day sack for me to use when I'm visiting tourist attractions or at the beach. This is perfect for what I need it for.It's incredibly lightweight and it's the perfect size for carrying my bits and bobs. I find it comfortable when wearing it and the straps adjust to it sits stays securely in place. But the stand out feature for me is that it folds away so wont take up much space or weight in my rucksack. It looks pretty durable and was defect free, the zips all work fine etc. I'm really pleased with it and thinks its pretty good value for money.
