This is a great item! We added two posts to the ramp on our dock and affixed it there and it’s perfect to keep the dog secure. Used for 2 months last summer and it seems to be great.

We installed this on our front porch. Our medium-large dogs go out there to play together. They are well trained in as far as they do not try to get past the barrier, nor do they bite or scratch it. They could easily escape if they had a mind to. There are several inches of space underneath where they could wiggle out. They could probably jump it, although they would likely have a very hard landing onto the steps. The gate is very easy to pull across and hook onto the other side. It hooks at the bottom and top. I don't have to reach down to hook it. I can use two hands to get it into position, and then kind of ease it into the bottom hook using my foot. It sounds harder than it is. Once it's hooked, I turn the lock to keep it from accidently snapping closed. The lock is not to keep people out. It's easy to reach from either side of the gate. I hate calling it a gate, since it's made of sturdy material. It is a barrier. It offers a little privacy, yet it can be seen through. It does filter out the sun. It's a nice, neat solution. When we aren't using it, it's out of the way, rolled up. There's nothing to trip on. People probably don't even notice it when it's not in use. I felt like this was a little on the pricy side when we bought it, but I'm so happy with it that I don't mind anymore. My husband installed it. He had to use a drill and a screwdriver, as I recall. If you're familiar with that sort of thing, it should be pretty easy. It would have been more of a task for me, since I don't use drills and hammers very often, if ever.

Very Easy to install and keeps our small dog on the patio. Would recommend this if you want to keep smaller dogs in not sure about big dogs. Easy to open and close

Very easy install love the retract gate easy to use only down fall, easily be flipped from underneath by 🐶…….

This retractable gate is well constructed and easy to install; however, my dogs can go underneath it. I installed it at the correct height according to the instructions too. There's too much give on the bottom of the fabric.
