I see this kettle is discontinued. It was great when it worked, only a few months before it failed and started squealing and nearly rattled itself off the counter. We sent it back for a different brand.

Had this for over three years now and it's still going strong. I initially bought this just for tea (especially greens that want a lower temp), but it's also useful for pasta and rice, as well as pour-over coffee (I now also use an Aeropress). It lives at my coffee/tea station and is used multiple times a day.But don't be like me and wait too long for a cleaning. Scale built up in the bottom, but I cleared it after a few rounds of boiling 1:1 water:vinegar.

I asked for this kettle for mother's day and was very happy with the way it looks. My old kettle still functioned, but I wanted the temperature controls and a prettier kettle. The kettle does have different settings, but you have to push a + or - button to scroll through to the correct settings to get to the option you want. This is not a big deal, but the kettle defaults to "boil" every time rather than allowing me to keep it on a specific setting. The most significant issue, though, is that the auto shutoff function makes the product unsafe for a house with young kids. Here's why. The kettle shuts off automatically if you set the temperature to anything other than "boil" so that the water is at your desired temperature. However, if you have the kettle set on "boil" (which is the default, so if you forget to change it, it's on "boil"), the kettle only shuts off WHEN IT IS EMPTY! If you fill this kettle, set it to boil, and forget about it, it will boil until it is empty. We timed the kettle for six minutes after it hit boiling temperature, and there was no beep to let you know it was boiling, and it didn't shut off. What it did do was cause a ton of condensation on the cabinet door, the underside of the cabinet, and the wall into which it was plugged. We finally turned it off after we realized it wasn't going to shut off until all 1.7L of water had boiled away in a billowing fog of hot steam and hot water running down the cabinet. I was also concerned that the water running down the tile back splash was headed for the outlet into which the kettle was plugged. We are returning this for something with an auto shutoff that work better.

Ok, so when you're at sea level the boiling point of water is about 212 degrees F. The thermostat is calibrated for that. Thing is, I'm at 6200 feet ABOVE sea level, where water starts to turn to gas at 201 degrees. Can you guess what happens to the pot if you set it to BOIL and walk away? You got it, it won't turn off until it cooks out all the water and overheats. Guess I'll keep the thermostat at 200 to work around this, but it doesn't seem like something the engineers though of when they designed it.TLDR: Perfect for sea level, not so much above 6K feet of altitude.
