ARC works... But only if no input is used. Once an input signal comes on the audio extraction causes arc functionality to stop. It can be restored by disconnecting the input and repowering the device. Kind of annoying that arc can't be continuously enabled. Works as an audio extractor and HDMI switch just fine, but there are cheaper alternatives. Do not buy if both ARC and HDMI switching is a use case.

I have a 20-year-old Pioneer audio receiver and most amplifiers didn't come with HDMI inputs in those days. I wanted to try this extractor to see if you can take the HDMI ARC output from a modern LG smart TV and hook it to the TOSLINK digital optical cable input on the receiver. The short answer is yes you can do this with the EZCOO. But, if you're technologically challenged like me, it takes a while to figure out how to make the connections because the directions that come with the unit are not clear in this regard. For the type of setup I wanted, you have to set your TV to the HDMI ARC PCM setting; auto won't work. You also have to connect the HDMI cable from the TV port to the HDMI OUT (not IN) port on the audio extractor (see photo). This is on the same side as the TOSLINK output port that goes to your receiver. It took me a while to figure this out and the other reviews for this product were helpful. Finally, note there is a slight delay if you switch settings on the extractor.I knocked this down a star because the instructions could be clearer on the various setup scenarios. I also think it's a bit pricier than some of its competitors out there. But it terms of doing what the sellers claim it will do, this audio extractor works. We'll see how it does longer term, but initially, I'm very happy with it.

I only had one use case for this, and it was extracting audio from my Sony TV HDMI 3 ARC port to feed audio into my old 2 channel amplifier, and this device failed big time. No matter what input or output port I used, neither optical put or LR out had any sound, and I try every possible combination for an hour. Thanks for reading, and YMMV.

I don't know if the brand is EZCO or EZCOO but this switch is great. Sometimes we run out of ports and this allows us to switch between 2 inputs to 1 output. Quality of passthrough seems maintained. Features audio extractor to allow us various hookup scenarios.
