I bought this hat for walking and fishing. Though it isn’t the lightest hat, I gave it 5 stars for “light weight” because others I’ve worn that are lighter flip around a lot, which I don’t like. In my opinion, this hat is as light as it can be and still remain sturdy. It allows the breeze to come in, which is important to me because I have thick hair and hate for my head to be hot. This hat also looks good. I walk through our small town where I know everybody so, being self conscious anyway, I’d rather not be seen walking around wearing a silly looking hat. I feel confident in this one. If you’re looking for a stylish hat that doesn’t burn your head up, I’d recommend this one.

It is a good hat and I like the color, also. On the other hand, I considered returning it—-not due to the quality but simply because it is a bit stiffer than I had hoped. I was looking for something more flexible and perhaps just a tiny bit shorter in it’s height. Decided finally to keep it for yard working. Because of its size in crown height and brim, I think it would look better on a tall person. The size offers good Sun protection but might somewhat dwarf a shorter person.

I love this hat! I would give it 6 stars if I could.Size: I wear 7 1/4, I followed the sizing chart which said Large and it fit perfectly.Mesh: Plenty of ventilation and strength. Excellent design. Distressed gold color looks a little more brown and less gold than I thought but still works well with the olive color.Brim: Perfect width, firm, not floppy. Top side had the mesh material for looks on top of the solid beefy brim material.Workmanship: excellent stitching, straight seams, no wrinkles. Great contruction.Looks: I am a person who normally does NOT look good in wide brim hats. They are usually a source of hysterical laughter for my wife and daughter. This hat brought compliments instead!Wonderful hat. I have already recommended it to my neighbor who immediately bought one!
