Arrived. Nicely packaged. The case is good quality. Opened, installed batteries. Powered unit on. It appears to power on okay.Started trying to listen to things. Connected a clip to the unit, selected the desired input. Tapped with a pen. Nothing. Connected to a box fan. Nothing. Started up a 1999 Ford 7.3L diesel and clipped on. Nothing. Tried all other inputs, adjusting the sensitivity back and forth along the way. Nothing. Thinking perhaps the wiring on the inside doesn't match the labeling on the outside, I tried all combinations of ports versus selections (port 1 plugged in and selected 1 then 2 then 3 etc.) through all 36 possible combinations and spun the sensitivity knob back and forth on each one. Nothing.Turning on gives an audible pop in the headphones, so it wasn't a bad set of headphones or bad output jack.Tried other clips and cords on various inputs while selecting those inputs and spinning the sensitivity back and forth. Nothing.If you can't hear a Ford 7.3L diesel at idle then you can't hear anything, and you might actually be dead.Just to be sure, I used the old screwdriver method in the same location as I had clipped. Deafening roar from the 7.3 . Also can hear tapping and the box fan on the screwdriver.Returned the item.

The lights work with sound and vibration. The headphones pick up the sound. I figured out that the volume control was on the wire to the headphones. The headphones are too big for me. They fit someone with a taller head. Going to have to find a way to hold them onto my head.

All the "ears" are very sensitive. There will be no trouble locating a noise using this. I will update my review if the components brake quickly or easily.

Was able to use this tool to listen for noise directly at wheel bearings, differential, transmission, and transfer case all in one drive with this tool worked Exactly as it should.
