Used this to patch a hole in my ceiling a few years ago, and cant even remember where the hole was anymore when I look for it. The instructions are easy to follow. The size of the material included is perfect for the job. It sticks very well, and dries fast. Easy to repair holes and has the perfect thickness when proper water is added.

I'm completely willing to admit I know nothing about drywall repair but I thought the whole point of buying a DIY kit was ease of use. I'm rating a 3 because maybe I didn't follow instructions well enough but I will say this:*the compound material was very clumpy and hard to spread*it was sticking together so much that as I was spreading it the screen mesh (that stuck to the wall with fairly weak adhesive), the mesh began to slide and bunch up around the edges of the metal patch*Within 30 minutes of working and trying to fix this, the compound started drying up and become harder to spread, it would not leave a smooth, flat surface as I scraped over it with the putty knifeThe whole project was a mess and I ended up pulling the patch off and wiping everything up before it dried. I might try this again with some store bought compound that you mix at home. Like I said, maybe I completely botched this from the start but I'm curious if I got an old or bad batch of putty.

I liked that it came with all the necessary things to patch a hole made by a doorknob, I did not like how hard the paste was to spread, if you don't spread the same way as you started the paste will roll and peel away, and the sand paper pads are small and hard to use, but over all it seems to have done what it was intended to do, the whole in my wall is no more

Our puppy scratched our wall to hell last week while we were outside doing the yard. There were probably 8-10 scratches ranging from 1/4 inch deep to barely showing. I couldn’t stand looking at it so I ordered this kit. We tried another brand last year for another issue and the other brand was HORRIBLE. This stuff worked so well that I ended up fixing our windowsill that was mutilated on the edge from the dog that lived here before us. I wanted to fix more stuff. Let it dry for maybe 2-3 hours. Sanded it. Painted. Done. Like it never even happened. The most important thing about this kit is that we didn’t have to use as much putty as other brands and the sandpaper in the kit was actually enough grit to sand it down. I’ll definitely order this kit again. No before picture but check the after. That wall was COVERED in scratches and the windowsill corner wasn’t even a shape. Super happy with the results and very user friendly.

What to do when you have unsightly holes and other damage to a wall? You can call a contractor to fix it which comes with a pretty high cost. Or you can buy this product and to it yourself just like a professional. It is among the lowest price products on the Amazon.com website and since I needed to do a repair right away it came it quite handy. Homax is a brand I often use and this package came with the spackling, a putty knife and a couple of sanding pads. A pre-cut wall patch is also included. I used it immediately, covered the holes and patched a crack. It was easy to work with and everything now looks like new.
