i love this rug, had it for awhile now. though i believe when i first ordered it, it had some sort of plasticy smell, just open your windows or something.

Yup, it came by mail & was vacuumed sealed by the bag it came in and then shrink wrap over the plastic bag (why?) so it was a little challenging getting it unwrapped. That's when the smell hit me like a wave of dog's breath or someone after they ate baked beans😉😁! Once you smell it, it only gets worse. So I brought downstairs (dragging the smell behind me) and have opened up over a clothes rack with the fan oscillating over it with the door opened so it won't stink up the basement too badly or contaminate my freshly washed clothes. I'll update in 2-3 days with hopefully an upgraded rating and no more smell! It looks nice but not as thick as the pictures in the ad. 🤞UPDATE: Day 2 and luckily, thankfully the smell is gone but that's only by luck & having it on the drying rack with the fan on it all night long. Put it in the bedroom room (temporary so please excuse the mess/setup) and it looks nice. However, it's like stepping on a furry placemat. No cushion whatsoever and the fur kind sticks to my feet (maybe that'll stop after walking on it a bit) and I have found that my flipflops do kinda slide a bit too so I'll have to be careful with that. Overall, it's okay but not as nice as some reviews said or as the description says it would be. For this price, I'll deal with it and only spot clean when/if necessary after reading from others that washing it changes the texture of the fur, etc. So Rating goes up from 2 Stars to only 3 Stars.UPDATE 2: So I finally vacuumed and it's horrible. While the rug is very cute and soft to walk on still, it's a nightmare to vacuum as others have stated. The rug captures every single foreign particle I track into my room. The particles get trapped in the hairs of the rug so it's stuck like it'd be stuck on sticky tape. I used 2 different attachments and still barely able to get anything to vacuum up even though I can literally feel things stuck in it. So I'm dropping the Star again back down to 2. I wouldn't recommend this after having it for a couple months.Last & final update 9/3/24: Absolutely hating this rug now! I tried again to vacuum it, didn't help so I brought it outside, hung it on the clothes line and beat the crap out of it with only dust and some loose hair strands coming off of it. Vacuumed again with a different vacuum plus the Pet Attachment this time and did nothing, nada, zilch,still felt all the little bumps of whatever that got trapped in the fur. So I turned the rug around in my room so at least it looks new when looking down from my bed or into my room from the hallway. And I must take off ALL footwear before entering so I don't get anything from the rest of the house or outside onto this "worse than shag carpet" rug. Definitely DO NOT RECOMMEND! ARGH!!! Down to 1 Star now.
