this does not fit the singer 4423 cant give any stars good or bad but it does look and feel of very good quality and after inspection it really does look like its an all in on presser foot using the adjuster

Before you put the peddle to the metal, use your handwheel to test where your needle will land first. The slot between the toes may not be deep enough. If that's the case, you can use a round "needle file" to quickly solve the problem. Also, if you have a high shank machine, check if you have space between the needle plate and the bottom of the foot. You may need to lower the foot a little before you tighten the shank screw. Otherwise it works as expected.

This presser foot fits my old Singer 281-1 industrial sewing machine. It makes changing to a zipper foot much easier.

I have an old Kensington zigzag machine. With the stock foot fhe needle, on strait stitch, was always over at the left of the foot. It made it somewhat difficult to keep a good line, since I always want to line up with the center of the foot.With this foot, you can line up the center of the foot with the needle, so it's eqsy to keep a strait stitch. Just don't forget to swap back to your original foot when you want to sew a zig zag stitch.

Great foot! Fits my 1600 Janome machine. I like that you can adjust it to left right or center
