My son loved this hoverboard and was so careful with it that he never took it outside. After ~20 pretty short rides around the house over a few months, it just stopped charging but was outside the return window. Also and perhaps relatedly, the plug was really difficult to pull out of the hoverboard after charging, so it might be a hardware design issue. A serious bummer as it was a treasured gift.

This was on of my daughter's major gifts from Santa. After opening it, we plugged it in to charge. Just like with other reviews, the charger had a green light from the moment we plugged it in, but the board itself wouldn't turn on. We tried several different outlets and let it charge for hours just in case. It still wont turn on. My daughter is devastated.I called Amazon's customer service, but they just directed me to the manufacturer - which is only an automated message directing you to their website where you need to fill out a ticket ( which i did). So you cannot talk to anyone& who knows how long it will take them to respond.Like others here, I will most likely end up purchasing a different brand and return this one.

So, I have to say, I never write reviews, but after purchasing two of these I felt I needed to. Yes, you read that right, I received TWO! So, I ordered one for my grandson for Christmas. He already knew what it was so we gave it to him early. I am glad that we did because he opened it and it wouldn't work. We thought maybe it needed to be charged so that's what we did. It still didn't turn on. We decided to return it and chose to exchange it for the more expensive one. We had the exact same problem! Are you kidding me? Was this some sick joke? I get two different Hover-1's and neither one works? My grandson cried so hard. It literally borke my heart because it broke his. You cannot explain something to a child that you dont understand yourself. If could give Hover-1 a negative star I would. I am that angry! So, after being burned twice we had to make a decision: do we exchange it again or do we wait weeks on a refund and buy another one? We decided enough is enough and chose to return it for a refund. Two days later we decided to go to Walmart and buy him one. We purchased a GoTrax Edge. It is AWESOME! My grandson opened it and right out of the box started riding it! He has rode it for about two weeks on no charge at all! It has literally blew my mind!I know how electronics are, things can happen during production, during shipping, etc. but there were two of these that didn't work! The boxes came in tact, no damage during shipping whatsoever. Both hoverboards looked perfect out of the box, so I have no idea why they wouldn't turn on or even charge. I will never again purchase a Hover-1 product. Period. My title for this review is "very disappointed" but I am more angry than anything. These things are expensive, yes, but to have my grandson so hurt by a gift that didn't work, two different times, is inexcusable.

I purchased this Hover-1 i100 as a gift to my 9 year-old granddaughter who wanted a hoverboard for her birthday. Her cousins all had them and she learned to ride a hoverboard using theirs. Her new i100 hoverboard worked perfectly from the beginning and she looked great riding it. Other siblings also rode it and eventually, just before the end of the 90-day warranty period, it would no longer calibrate and ride properly. This is a common problem with all hoverboards, regardless of brand.Tech support at Hover-1 was by email and they responded back to my email within a day. After following all of their instructions, I decommissioned the old hoverboard and a replacement i100 arrived about a week later. It’s been a couple weeks and the replacement hoverboard still works perfectly. When purchasing any hoverboard I would recommend buying the Amazon extended warranty. More importantly, any warranty is only as good as the company that stands behind it. Hover-1 turned out to be very strong in the support department: easy to contact and quick to solve the problem, even if it meant sending a replacement hoverboard. I won’t forget how they supported their product (and me) and will buy from them again.

We bought this as Christmas gifts for our two kids, but at 6’1” and 225lbs I’ve had as much fun in this as they have. It’s VERY sturdily build and you can feel that when you pick it up. Don’t know what it weighs, but it’s noticeably heavier and more solid than some others I’ve been around.Our favorite features are the Bluetooth function that allows you to stream music while you ride, and it’s self balancing feature is first rate. I’m a clumsy kinda guy, but it’s very forgiving and I was comfortably riding around like a teenager in just a matter of minutes, having never ridden one myself before.It’s got really cool lights that are great for the kids late evening rights outside.Really only possible downside is my kids are really hard on things and this one seems to get scuffed and scraped fairly easily. Having said that, functionally it’s withstood them banging into things and even dropping it once or twice, so the scrapes it’s gotten since nearly day one are just cosmetic.The app (Apple) to control certain settings can be a bit glitchy, but it doesn’t affect functionality in any way - just for stuff like changing the lighting color schemes etc, it’s not as seamless as maybe it could be. GREAT value for the price we paid!
