Works nicely with my older ProBook 650 Generation 1 laptop. I was unsure as there were conflicting answers within the questions section on this listing. As far as connectivity between the docking station and laptop it is very easy. First, just slide a switch-like slider (step 1 on the sticker located on top of station) to the left that pushes out two square pieces. These are the first of 2 measures to ensure the laptop (at least my particular laptop) is in the right place for the bottom connector of the laptop to line up correctly with the docking station. The second step is finding a little mark (depicted in step 2 of the stickers on docking station) located on the top of the laptop at the back and lining it up with the mark on the docking station. After these two steps, simply sitting the laptop on top of the docking station completes the docking process.Highly recommended. Plenty of connection options for peripheral devices and then some. The build quality is solid and feels like that of a premium product, of which thisIs I’m sure. One more quick note in case you’re curious: all of the USB ports, card reader, and radios (WiFi and Bluetooth) of the laptop still work while using the docking station. Not sure if vga/display ports/etc will work in conjunction with the ones on the docking station but I suspect not, especially if corresponding port is in use on station.I hope this proves useful to someone and if I run into any problems, bugs, or issues I’ll be sure to update this review.

Buen producto original, cuenta con los puertos necesarios para trabajar, por la inclinación de la laptop prácticamente no se enciende el ventilador del equipo. Excelente compra

After doing some research for my HP 650 this docking station is the best for utilizing 3 screens at once. Pretty easy to setup in a matter of minutes. The station has many connection points ie usb, vga, dvi, etc. Therefore, down loading drivers to connect a adapter is limited especially when using a work computer that is controlled by your company IT depatment. The docking station will eliminate the steps of downloading drivers etc.The seller was excellent and ship my station immediately so with in a couple of days I received it and it functions flawlessly. Happy camper.

I bought this for my HP EliteBook 8570p laptop. It allows me to have a fixed, pre-wired setup that I don't have to spend fifteen or so minutes plugging in and unplugging every time I take the laptop somewhere.First off - for those of you who may not be familiar with a *hardware* docking station, (one that plugs directly into your laptop via an expansion connector), these are not small. It's about half the footprint of a full-size keyboard and about as heavy as full-size external USB hard drive - it actually looks larger in the listing than it is - it's smaller than the laptop itselfNote what I said above - it's a *hardware* docking station. It does *NOT* work via USB, it requires a special, dedicated, docking station connector on the bottom of your laptop that looks like the connector for an enterprise level hard drive in a server somewhere. If you're used to the so-called docking/expansion systems that attach via USB, this may seem a bit big. But it's supposed to be - it's a *DOCK* - you attach your laptop to it, it snaps in and is held firmly in place, and it becomes almost the same as a real-live desktop system. The idea behind this is that you can have a monitor, mouse, keyboard, dedicated USB devices - like a large USB hard drive - fingerprint scanners, along with whatever else you may need attached at your permanent "base-station" ready fore use. When you leave, you just shut down your system, un-dock it, plop it into your bag, and carry it away. You don't even have to open the laptop to use it - it has its own power button! If you have an external monitor attached, you plop it in, turn it on, and you're ready to go.It has it's own power adapter so your system charges while docked. You can add VGA, DVI, and/or Display-Port monitors, (though I don't know if you can add multiple monitors at the same time.)It has its own dedicated Ethernet port. (Gigabit? I don't know.)It also adds four extra USB-3 ports, including a powered/boot-enabled port for optical media or other boot devices. It even adds legacy interfaces like PS2 mouse and keyboard sockets, (Old-skool KVM anyone?), DB-25 interface for a parallel printer and a DB-9 serial port. I don't have much use for a parallel printer port nowadays, but as embedded controller, micro-electronics developer the serial port comes in handy! The only things missing are optical digital interfaces, but hey - if you need that, you won't have this kind of computer anyway. With the correct security adapters and/or keys, you can not only attach the dock itself firmly to the workspace, but you can actually key-lock the laptop into the dock itself. The only real down-side is that it adds an extra four-or-so inches to the back of the laptop. If you need it, you know what I mean.

This is the HP docking station for my computer and it works excellently so far. I bought this to get 2 external monitors for display (acer's) and both give 1920x1080 clear and sharp (max possible for my laptop), unlike the usb-to-vga converter I had bought couple weeks ago for the 2nd monitor (which was very fuzzy.) So I'm happy :)(Note: 2nd monitor is VGA plugged into the DVI-D port via a converter ... if you need a VGA (or other) converter ***make sure it is DVI-D, NOT DVI-I!!! DVI-I WILL NOT WORK! *** (DVI-A might, not sure.)Note: This HP docking station takes a bit of room (as, I've found, so do most older HP docking station), so I'll be looking to find a way to get it off my desktop, but, it is what it is. The smaller, slimmer, newer docking stations don't support my older laptop, so ... oh well.I haven't tried all the usb, etc ports yet, so .. hoping they are all working fine :)Thanks TekZilla for the prompt delivery! Needed this fast and got it fast :)
