Great shorts! I have a bunch of Rip Curl shorts, but they are too baggy comparatively. Hurley has a more slim cut - which is good for me. Love them.

They are very nice, comfortable, great material but 34 is too tight in waist and 36 falls off me. Wish they offered in-between sizes or had aittle more stretchy waist do I could wear the 34.

I've owned Hurley Phantom hybrid shorts before with great success... and purely by accident. Needed shorts to work on my clients that flexed and breathed well, but also wouldn't look like my work uniform was from the $8.99 Walmart men's sportswear aisle. These address the flaws of the old (2012) pairs nicely -- a more robust button and attachment, covered rear pockets -- but kept the features I loved: featherweight, quick-drying, machine-washable Phantom flex fabric, close but casual fit, large deep pockets to hold the current phablets passing for smartphones these days.One issue I was somewhat disappointed in, which was more Amazon than Hurley: these were supposed to be try-before-you-buy, but once they were delivered, they charged my card, giving me no opportunity for any try-before-buy -- much the opposite: buy, then go thru the exact same return song-and-dance as any normal purchase if you don't like them. What was so special about try-before-buying in the first place?Annoyed (as Amazon twice failed to make delivery date on a 1st purchase recently, then its replacement as well -- can't blame it on holiday rush, either)... but lucky for them Hurley's shorts exceeded my expectations, so no reason to return them.
