We got this for our patio door, as we have a backyard pool and wanted more barriers for our toddler. My husband installed in quickly and without any frustration, and we’ve been using it ever since with ease.It seems pretty sturdy, I like that the arm is adjustable, in case you want the door open just an inch or so. It goes up and down without any issues, yet is still secure.

Esta genial, es para unas ventanas americanas ya que ellos no tienes dos puertas corredoras. Pero se puede utilizar sin problemas. Yo tengo 3 en 3 puertas

El producto es de calidad, se siente sólido. Sólo hay que considerar que si se van a poner al límite de su extensión, comienza a sentirse fragil, y se atora un poco el botón liberador, ya que queda muy poco tubo adentro para sostener el peso.

Perfect way to ensure the security of your home. We installed this after we moved in and feel more secure. Fairly easy to install, you make have to pre-drill pilot holes if you're drilling into the metal frame of the door. The bar can adjust to meet the width of your door, which is great! This bar makes it so a sliding door can't be opened from the outside. There's even a metal tab that holds the bar in place in case children are around or someone is trying to pop the bar off. Very easy to pop down when leaving your home. Great product!

This is a perfect for two scenarios here at our house. We have always been apprehensive about leaving the sliding door partially ( 4 inches or so) open overnight for ventilation, and we also recently bought ( on Amazon ) an eight foot tall Tall Patio Pet Door. Now the sliding door can be secured in either scenario, with ease, and security. I mounted it differently than what the standard instructions for any of these types of devices call for. Usually you mount the end with the rotating bracket in the door jam/ frame, and locking saddle on the door edge. I found that with the pet door in place, I could use a stiff coat hanger, reach between the sliding door and the stationary glass and lift the bar, thus allowing me to slide the door open. So, I mounted the rotating bracket on the door edge and the locking saddle inside the jam/frame of the sliding door. This makes it next to impossible to lift the bar and gain access from the outside. To make it even more secure, I attach a small, inexpensive window lock directly above the saddle bracket, which completely locks the bar into place! There is no way it can be lifted out of place! (see photos).Let's talk about leaving the sliding door open at night for ventilation. First of all, you only want to leave it open 4-5 inches, basically no more than the width of the space between stair balusters. Any more than that, some skinny kid could find his way into your house (and at my house be on the wrong end of a Remington 870). When the bar is set into place with the door open, you can try to push and push and push the door open, but it simply won't budge. And, if the person tries to close the door in a (futile) attempt to try and release the mechanism, they will fail, as the bar will re lock instantly in the new, longer position. Brilliant design!
