I've had a cheap carbon steel wok that I really enjoyed using, but as it was thin it eventually warped after a few years of use. I was originally looking to get another carbon steel wok, but wanted to find an upgrade that specifically has an oven safe handle and a larger pan size (mine was 30cm). I couldn't find anything in my budget until this came up, and since cast iron is so similar to carbon steel in use, but thicker and less likely to warp, this is a really happy find.I love that it's light as a traditional cast iron wok would certainly be too heavy for me, and this is a great medium in terms of having more resistance to warping, but also not too heavy. My only complaint is I don't like the coating on it as it is flaking off, whereas I've never had such an issue with uncoated pans that I season myself.

The pan comes pre-seasoned, which I presume means that they burn some oil onto it before sending it out. It doesn’t appear to have any coatings on it, as such. It isn’t as non-stick as a teflon coated pan, but I like that I can heat it very hot, without worrying about damaging any coatings. Heavier than a coat and aluminium pan, but quite acceptable.

Esta muy bien armado, pero pesa más que un Wok original

This is an excellent, quality cast iron wok. I was a little sceptical about it after reading some of the reviews but I'm glad I went ahead and purchased it anyway. The pre-seasoning provides excellent non-stick cooking which combined with the very fast heating using an induction cooktop makes for a most enjoyable and satisfying stir-frying experience. I'm able to obtain that elusive "wok hei" (or smokey-charred flavour) with this wok - something I've not been able to achieve previously on my induction cooktop with other woks I've owned. It's (relatively) light weight (for a cast iron wok) and ease in cleaning (just rinse and dry) makes it a pleasure to use. The only other wok I've used that is better than this wok is my late mother's cast iron wok which has been seasoned by more than 60 years of consent use. If you're looking for a high quality and very reasonably priced (I'd venture and say cheap even) cast iron wok, then look no further as this Imusa cast iron wok is very definitely an excellent buy. It's very well made, and if you look after it and continue to season it to maintain/improve it's non-stick qualities, it will reward you with many, many years if not decades of cooking enjoyment !!

So far so good. Definitely lighter than cast iron, but heavier than regular pans. Love cooking with a wok.personally my go to pan when cooking. Saw this and thought I'd give it a go. Out of the box it was pre-seasonedbut did a few coats of oil and did my first cooking. This thing is definitely cast iron and was not as slick as teflon. However, after cooking with it several times, it has become more and more 'non-stick.'Pan heats well on an electric flat top stove, I still getting accustom to heat setting as well as how long I need to preheat. I did some diced chicken the other day and realized that maybe I need to pre heat as long as 10-mins before putting in oil and food. I note this, because after putting in the oil (which had the irridecent roll when hot) and chicken I could tell that the heat was zapped a bit from the pan. Of course I compensated by turning up the heat to regain some temp, but didn't have the issue with the Teflon coated pan. ??? I will experiment a bit and report back any findings.Pan looks nice, has a comfortable handle and, IMHO could go from stove to tabletop and present well. Not too heavy, but if you struggle with a regular pan I'd take a pass on this.Heat Distribution: I am giving 3-stars. This is based upon my limited use of the pan, however, I feel the distribution is overall good.Easy to clean: Better than a regular cast iron, but a little tougher than a Teflon coated. Bonus, no toxic coating.Light weight: Solid 4 - Please note that this is an iron pan. Thinner than the case iron from your grandma's house and definitely lighter and easier to handle.

I am finding this light cast iron wok far preferable to the highly touted carbon steel variety. This beautiful Imusa came pre-seasoned, and other than the light rinse I'd perform on any other new piece of cookware, nothing further was necessary. I started cooking up veggie stir fries and veggie fried rice right away. No need to wait for or add seasoning. It's very robust yet highly maneuverable. It gets HOT and stays hot - a definite plus if you're into crisp and fresh-tasting veggies. And I don't have to worry about it leaching toxic teflon crap into my food. Easy to clean. I use a scotchbrite dobie non-scratch cleaning pad with diluted Dawn soap to clean after use. Nothing special. That's what I love about this delightful piece of cookware. It delivers extraordinary results with minimal fuss.
