To use this, you'll want to go to the Waveshare wiki page for "USB TO 8CH TTL" (a web search will bring it up) There you will find links to Windows and Linux drivers. After installing the driver on Windows 11, all 8 ports immediately appeared. That's really all you need to use it. This is a much more convenient way of getting 8 serial ports than plugging in 8 separate USB-serial adapters.The "SSCOM Assistant" software on the Wiki page is old utility software that lets you manipulate and use any serial port, e.g. send out a string every 10 ms or monitor serial port output. You have to check a box to get it to show English. You don't need it, but it was handy for checking out the port operation.

Wie soll dieses Teil ohne Treiber bei Win 11 funktionieren??Dieser Treiber von der WAVESHARE Seite funktioniert auch nicht und Windows findet keinen Treiber für den MüllStink Sauer

i’ve been using this converter for a few electronics projects, and it’s been working well. the 8 channels give me enough options, and i haven’t had issues with disconnecting. setup was simple, and it’s handled everything i’ve needed without problems. feels like a good tool to have on hand for TTL projects.

I was able to get this to work very quickly on my Linux development machine. I used two TTL channels and was able to both send and receive on both of the channels without any issues. I've got a lot of equipment that uses TTL communications and although I haven't tried this on all this equipment, the equipment I have try worked perfectly.Power would be a concern if all 8 channels are being used at the same time. I was able to power the two channels I used via the USB power from the USB port. There is a 5 volt PSU connection on the interface unit, so increase power can be supplied via an external PSU if required.The WiKi is very informative and all of the information I needed I found in the WiKiI tried by did not manage to get the same results on my Win11 PC. We have a licence dongle for a piece of software and the dongle works on Win10 but will not work on any Win11, no matter what we do. This TTL UART shows the same characteristics as that dongle. The UART works, I've proved it on the LINUX platform, so the Win11 issue must be the driver.
