Managed to cross thread a subframe to chassis bolt hole on my BMW X5. This tap is of great quality and was able to clean up the threads with ease. The bolt was able to make full torque after repair. Highly recommended.

Put a hitch on the wifes new vehicle, one of the bolts would not thread correctly. Got this tap to correct that issue. Some reviews said it was poorly made/machined but I find no evidence of that. I've always had good luck with products made by Irwin and this is no exception.

Used to clean up a damaged wheel hub thread, using cutting oil. Tool cutting edges deformed on first attempt, poor quality.

used to retread a bolt hole that I completely destroyed out of rage. After the tears dried I went to amazon and found this little tool that made me rethink my life for a few days. Once it came I slowly inserted the tap to chase the cross threaded hole and some drill chill and 5 min later i entered a fresh bolt and it went in flawlessly. Never again will I make such a foolish mistake.Story.Was replacing a lower ball joint on a 2015 Lexus GS350 and I ordered some of the cheapest pieces of crap on a popular auction site. Once they arrived I tried to force them in the control arm and drive link and after about an hour of fighting and cursing I finally got them to sit some what flush. I started to thread one and it went in ok. Then the next bolt was sitting a little crooked so i figured if I torqued it a little it would thread in. Big Mistake. Turns out the holes the joint thread slide through where too short and where not sitting flush on the knuckle/spindle correctly. No matter how hard I fought it it sat on the knuckle and not flush with the hole. So i said "f" it and torque the hell out of it. Needless to say it didn't work. So here I am.
