This Phomemo portable printer is a lifesaver for college! The sleek design fits right in my tote bag, and setup was a breeze. Printing from both my laptop and phone was easy, though loading paper can be tricky. The print quality is decent, though not super crisp. It's not perfect, but for the price and portability, it's a winner for me! Highly recommended for students on the move.

This printer works when you’re in a pinch, but I wouldn’t use it for a résumé or anything you have to give someone…because of the paper you have to print on.The printer itself works great and works well when you need to print some thing out. It’s easy to set up, easy to print off your phone, and relatively fast. So my review for the printer so far is that it’s worked well for my needs. The problem comes in with the paper that you have to buy in order to use this printer. Yes… you have to buy a special kind of paper. So they kind of go hand-in-hand. The paper is a bit more on the expensive side, which I could understand since you’re dealing with an inkless printer. On one side of the paper it actually tells you that you can’t print on that side….now, that is helpful. However, it looks strange. It looks unprofessional.

I've had several thermal label printers but this was my first time with a thermal printer that could do a full sheet. You of course, need thermal paper which is a little thinner than copy paper and tends to feel a bit glossy on the print side. This one came with several. test sheets in the box but you'll need to be sure to source more for continued use.Setup was simple, both with the app for my phone and the drivers from my Mac. I liked that with the app, I didn't have to create an account to use it. That seems to be something that's more and more rare these days.Connected by USB to the computer and bluetooth to the phone, printing from both worked just as it should right out of the gate. One odd thing is that in the pictures, it shows it printing face up but in actuality, it prints face down. Not a deal-breaker and I'm sure they showed it that way to convey it's printing in a way that would be difficult to see if it wasn't face up but it was a minor confusion when looking at the instructions. This printer is considerably noisier than the label printers I'm accustomed to using but it prints quickly so the sound isn't there for long.Being battery powered, it doesn't have to be plugged in anywhere to use and can charge from the same cable it uses for communication to the computer with, which i thought was nice. There is an upper limit to the quality you can get with a thermal printer, especially since it lacks the sort of grayscale nuance you'd expect from a typical laser or inkjet printer but for something you can slide in your bag and go with, it's an undeniably convenient device to have if you ever find yourself needing to print "in the field".

I was a bit disappointed with this item, but I guess I should have read the product details more carefully. First, the good. This printer is defintely portable, with a simple yet effecting carrying pouch. It isn't that heavy but it feels sturdy enough to survive travel. It also comes with a simple short USB plug and adapter to change the Type C to Type A to a Type C to Type C. I was able to easily set it up on my Windows computer with the drivers and on my S24+ with the app. I tested it on both and a test page printed just fine. This also comes with some thermal paper to get you started too. Now for the bad that drops this to 3 stars. First, it isn't wirelessly connectable to a Windows computer, despite having Bluetooth capabilities. So you have to wired connect it. It's only wireless with a phone and the app. Also, this only works with letter size paper and no other sizes and must be used with thermal paper, so if you don't have this type or run out, you can't use ordinary stock. Last, the quality isn't great, with fuzzy/blurry edges on things printed. The price on this makes it's limitations hard to swallow, but it isn't horrible. I suggest doing your research first, before jumping into buying this item.

But you need extra thermal paper to print on. Won’t print on normal paper.
