Good quality waste pump. It replaced a manual pump (both were installed in series actually) and it is a bit slower to pump so it has to run much longer than with manual pump.

It takes about 20 minutes to empty our 30 gallon holding tank, but it does indeed empty the tank.

I work with 1,000 gallons of water. This water is constantly moving through various systems. Moving clean water is easy with pumps, but drains are a bit harder. Using gravity is the most common approach but this is problematic and relies on siphons. I needed a system to pump dirty water out of aquariums at ground level (sumps).This pump seems to do the trick. It is quiet for what it is. Not silent but quiet. It will deal with dirt, algea and sand as long as you don't over power it. It has powerful suction to get the water moving but not so much that it crushes the hose.I first bought a non trash pump and that plan completely failed due to constantly blocking.The one thing I really didn't like is the hose hookups. I couldn't find anything that would fit. I guess it must work with its intended hoses, whatever they are, but hooking up your own hose will not be easy. My solution involves silicone and hose clamps. It worked, but a standard threaded or barbed adapter would have been so much easier to work with.
