I recently upgraded but still operate on a budget for my stereo (incrementally growing into it). I was using all bluetooth to whatever speaker was available. Once I got my new amp and turntable, I wanted to go more traditional with my setup. These fit the bill for look/size/price, so I pulled the trigger.Let me say, these are fantastic! An immediate upgrade in the aesthetics and sound. Yes, some of this is attributable to the new cartridge/amp, but the speakers really shine! The grilles add just enough to remind me of growing up. The casing is a rich, dark color that will match most anything. I have a Jamo subwoofer that I haven't even unpacked yet because these are simply doing it all for me at the moment. I may or may not keep the subwoofer, but I can say confidently that I don't NEED to keep it.I find myself more excited than ever to reach for a record after completing my new setup, and these speakers are a huge part of the reason why.

Connected these speakers to mu Denon amp.Ran it through the usual sound test. Hey Nineteen, YYZ, Once in a Lifetime live, Madonna Music, and Roundabout. The speakers sound good. They sound better than the price point by a lot. I did prefer to listen with my little 8” Boston Acoustic powered sub about 35% power. The volume sweet spot for me is between 65 to 74 decibels. I read and watched quite a few reviews on these as I was going in without hearing them for myself before purchasing them.. The reviews are on point. Five stars considering the quality for the price. Good speakers.

Very under-rated speakers, these sound great for even MSRP. They come in and just looking at how small these floor-standing speakers are you assume it’ll sound terrible, but once you pair it with a decent AMP and DAC, you realize there’s a lot of bang for your buck here. The frequency response is rated from 43Hz to 26Khz and while 43 doesn’t sound like you’d get a full-ranged sound from these, they have a very smooth and full sounding bass roll-off, meaning they sound bigger than the numbers make you think. The highs are brighter and a bit more exaggerated, however they don’t feel fatiguing, at least to my ears. Personally I love a bit of sparkle in my sound, so take that as you may. I suppose my only real complaint’s that the midrange is a bit stepped back in comparison to the rest of the sound. Overall you can’t go wrong with any of the Jamo S 800 series speakers, but the 805s are magical. They sound as good as they look.

I am not an audiophile, I don’t have the ears or knowledge to give these an in-depth review. I paired these gems with an SMSL DA-9 class D. For the price, imaging is quite good. Highs are excellent and lows are good. Mid-range is lacking a little. I’m not sure if the WaveGuide is doing anything at all. I will admit that I have a “junkyard” HT setup comprised of Sony speakers (satellites/bookshelves/sub) which are decent for movies, but these Jamos are better in comparison for stereo/music.

Underatated and elegant looks Great value for the $$. Needs 50 or more watts per channel to sound good. Also recommend a subwoofer. Noticed a great improvement in sound by adding a better pre amp. Also noticed improved better highs by adding vibration pads to the base. These speakers are very revealing so the better the sound source the better the results.
