I wanted function and I got it. My running jacket was matte black. This makes me really easy to see. It did not adhere perfectly but I don’t care. Enough is on to work. And I have enough to reapply. It stretches enough for running. It hasn’t cracked off or soaked off in rain or snow. I have not laundered it yet. It says it is washable

I did about 20 applications on different textiles so far. I would love to say 'practice on scraps', but most people don't have scraps of Gore-tex and other outdoors materials just lying around. Applying the reflective 'tape' on a cotton t-shirt is pretty easy, but gaiters, shells and especially fleece (don't do it) are different. I used a regular iron set to different temperatures from '6' down to '4' on a scale of '0' through '6' (whatever that means). I used a block of wood to isolate just the one layer of fabric, then put the 'tape's shiny (release layer) side up, with a single layer of paper towel between the release layer and the iron. So: iron, paper towel, 'tape', one layer of the garment, black of wood. I pressed iron without moving it from 15 to 45 seconds. If you get the 'tape' too hot, the release layer will start to crinkle. Works best on smooth cotton and the nylon shell of Gore-tex. You must use the paper towel in between or you can melt the shell of the Gore-tex (oops on $120 mountaineering gaiters). With fleece it is very difficult to pull off the release layer, as the release layer sticks to the fleece and can/will rip the fleece (oops on $60 North Face fleece jacket). Let the assembly cool to about room temp before carefully peeling the release layer off. If the reflective material stays on the release film (comes off the fabric), stop peeling, go back and re-iron, cool, try again to remove the film. Other than that (and receiving no instructions) it works great. Note that the retroreflective property is not evident while the 'tape' is still on the roll; only after the release material is removed does it become retroreflective.
