I’ve had my fender strat since 2003 and I’ve changed the pickups several times, not really happy with any of them. Being a humbucker player, the HSH configuration in black for the price was worth a shot. What an incredible purchase. The tones I’m getting on my strat are incredible. The pickups have warm and depth and honestly sound more like Gibson pickups than my Les Pauls. It’s made the Strat my number 1 when gigging. In fact it’s pretty much the only guitar I use now.I did have the same issues with the screw holes not lining up but that wasn’t much of an issue. I love the sound so much I’ll probably never change pickups again. I did have to widen out the body cavity for the neck pickup because it was routed for the standard 3 single coils. That’s why there’s a little scuff by the neck pickup on the body. But it makes the guitar unique.Overall easy install, enhances the look, and has amazing tone. Definitely worth every penny, heck even more for what I’m getting out of it.

I really like the HSH (Humbucker, Single-coil, Humbucker pickups) layout of this pickguard, and the resulting tones. To me, it's like having a rich neck pickup and two bridge pickups. The actual bridge pickup us strong and complex, but slightly dark, being a humbucker. The middle pickup, the single-coil, sounds bright, as you would expect. I rarely use positions 2 and 4 on a Strat, but this is the exception. So many great tonal options. This may be the perfect pickup configuration for a Stratocaster.***Update: I liked my last project with this so much, I ordered another to do it again. The last project was for a friend, but I really miss that guitar, so I'm making myself one. I can't overemphasize just how good these pickups sound for the price!***Another Update: I've used this pickguard in 4 or more projects now. I've experimented with other pickguards (Alnico magnets in the pickups), but I keep preferring this one when I listen side by side. For whatever reason, these pickups just sound better than anything else I've tried in this price range. You won't confuse them for high end pickups, but they punch way above their class.

Muy aceptable de acuerdo a su precio. Las pastillas HH no son de alta ganancia, pero hacen muy buen trabajo.

This is not a perfect product, but I've rated it 5 stars anyway, because of the incredible value for the money that it offers. This loaded pickguard will take your Strat knock-off or partscaster, and make it sound incredible.These are ceramic pickups, yet they sound very close to good alnico pickups. It's only the occasional high-pitched note where you notice these are indeed ceramic. It's incredible how much the bridge humbucker sounds like the Seymour Duncan humbucker I have in a real Strat. The neck humbucker booms! Positions 2 and 4 have that classic Strat "middle position" sound. The wiring is very well done. It took longer to warm up the soldering iron than it did to solder the three connections needed to get this going. You truly can't beat this in terms of value for the money.The downsides have been covered in other reviews. Those humbucker mounting screws are way too big; I've never seen a Strat-style body that could take screws that long. I just replaced them with more normal mounting screws I already had. And on my partscaster, which has a Glarry body and a mix-and-match of other parts, the pickguard screw holes didn't perfectly line up. A few holes did, others were workable, and for two screws, I had to drill new holes. But this is to be expected when working with import pickguards and/or import bodies.A question was asked before about the number of wires on the humbuckers, and someone said they were 2-wire humbuckers. This is not true; they are absolutely 4-conductor humbuckers, just with wires soldered together in series so that they easily hook up to the switch in a standard 5-way Strat configuration. But if you wanted to install different switches, you could absolutely do coil splitting. Also, the bottom tone knob controls the bridge, and the top tone controls the middle and the neck. I understand this is common in modern Strat configurations, but it was new to me as all my Strats have the classic wiring where the bridge has no tone control.Overall, this sounds great and is an incredible value for the money!

Good value for the money. The humbuckers have resistance of around 11.5 k-ohm while the middle single coil gives around 6 k-ohm. Volune drop with middle pickup is pronounced, but not necessarily a disadvantage. Tone has a tight bottom and strong high mids, suitable for the heavier rock/metal genres. Slightly noisy but acceptable for the price. I had to widen the slots on the guitar body to accommodate it. Lets hope it lasts.

I am in love with the Neck Humbuckers in my Gibson's. Unfortunately Gibson does not make a Strat Body guitar and I am a sucker for a black strat. So, I bought a Black Squire, these pickups and a new 24.75 neck.Installation - Since the strat body was a single neck pickup heavy modification was required to the body of the guitar as I needed to route a swimming pool for the new neck humbucker as well as modify the neck joint for the shorter scale neck. I am happy to say that this loaded pickguard went in with ease and aside from soldering the output jack and the ground the install was super easy. Sure the screws needed a few new holes but the four corners lined up and I carefully pre-drilled whichever screws did not line up and you would never know the difference. (Besides, pick guards NEVER line up!)Sound - For the low price that this product is, one must assume the sound is not going to be that of pickups that cost 10 times as much. That said, I was very surprised to hear the neck position! It's deep, bluesy, and full of tone! I have been comparing the guitar to one of my favorite gibson's that has stock pickups and these have more output. If you wanted to play some SRV "Mary had a little lamb" this is the combo. Now if you were to upgrade the pots and add some caps from AxeGrinders you are playing with some fire. Your tone is gonna make the neighbors either rip their clothes off and dance in the streets or call the cops on the delusional tones coming from your house.Price - Why give a product like this less than 5 stars? Over expectation. Its cheap, buy it and experiment like I did. Put some work in. You will come back and buy another... like I did...That's all this inexpensive foray into some custom guitar building is going to get from me today...
