I've had this about a year, and it's turned out to be one of my favorite Amazon purchases. It's sturdy and accurate, it makes all my projects easier. It hasn't warped and the writing hasn't scraped off at all. I highly recommend it!!!

Johnson makes good stuff - in the USA too. It's a 6' straight edge - what more to say?

The ruler is accurate, but a good 6 inches of our product was covered with barcode-related shipping and identifiers, all extremely difficult to remove. Prolonged hot water softened the paper parts for scraping off, but the gummy layers on the ruler only partly came off with acetone. So I then used ethyl acetate which worked to dissolve the residual gum, but it lifted of the black print indicia there, too! What a mess!

Update: the manufacturer is sending me a replacement.I’ve been trying to remove the stickers from this otherwise great straight edge for fully a half an hour with rubbing alcohol, a scour pad, and a scraper. It is impossible to remove the adhesive without removing the marks from the thing, rendering it useless for measurement. This does not appear to be the manufacturer’s fault, rather Amazon.com Services, Inc, who sold it. Next time I’ll buy direct from the manufacturer.

Like others have mentioned, the markings are printed on, not etched. I don't know how much I care about that but the markings aren't entirely solid in areas. Empire's straight edges also have the markings printed but the quality is better and the 72" model is half the price. Unfortunately, Empire only makes them in imperial, not metric, so I guess Johnson is the winner by default.
