If you have a phillips head screw that is stripped out and won't come out no matter what you do... this is the set for you. This works perfect when used as instructed. The case is nice and it organized as well. So far, the bits seem durable, but I have only used one of them. Much cheaper than the big box stores!

DISCLAIMER: I haven't had the need to use this yet.I got this because I am doing some automotive work and have run into a couple old bolts that only barely came off, and I wanted to be prepared. It is hard to tell the quality of metal without putting it to use. The edges are sharp in the right areas, and the grooves appear to be cut evenly. My guess is that it would work fine for several extractions before it started to dull and disfigure enough that it would be a problem. Or it might last forever. The case is fine - nothing impressive but it holds the bits. I put mine into another case so I can keep such things consolidated.Overall, I will give it 5 stars because I believe it will do the job if I need it to, but I don't expect it to hold up like an expensive set would.

This drill/extractor bit set comes in a red plastic case with a black sliding latch. There are compartments for each bit to snap into, though one or two sometimes come loose when the case is moved around. (And the latch on mine was in the 'openable' position when I got it, with nothing to prevent that, so it would've been better if the manufacturer had added shrink-wrap as a precaution.) The hinge is a single piece of plastic that has to bend, instead of two or more interlocking pieces, so be gentle with it. The case is unlabeled, other than the inventory sticker.I had a situation recently where I could've used a left-handed drill bit, but these weren't around in time to test on that. Their construction seems to be very similar to other hex-base drill bits I've used. The sizes are engraved in one side of the base on each of the drill bits (but not on the extractor bits), and embossed into the case's plastic. Since these have a standard 1/4" hex base, they can be used in 1/4" multibit hand screwdrivers for more careful/close-quarters work, in addition to power drills.

The first drill bit I used was not working on the metal. I moved up to the next larger side and it started to work then the bit broke. I had a similar one that was the same as the smaller one from Dewalt that I tried it, and drilled a whole right through the metal bolt. With the hole how in place, used the other bit that you insert in the hole to remove it, and this broke off as well (now the hole is filled again). I went back to the original drill bit that came with the kit to see if it can drill a smaller hole back though the extractor bit that broke off, and this drill bit broke. Save your money, these are made from cheap materials that break and create more problems.
