I wasn’t sure if this was going to work on an extremely bent, thick ring I have but I was able to hammer it back into shape pretty much immediately, solid for the money

I purchased a silver ring at an art festival and it was too small. This tool did the trick! At first I was disappointed because it wouldn’t work. However, once I used my own metal hammer it worked great. So if you just need to size a ring and don’t need the ring gauge set, you may want to consider only purchasing the ring stick. Get a heavy duty one.

Only gripe is that the channel for the sizes makes it a little annoying to shape a ring back into shape.

I have a few sterling silver rings that are a bit too small and I easily stretched them to the perfect size. You can't go from size 5 to size 10 but you can easily do 1.5 sizes depending on the thickness of the band. Obviously you should leave expensive wedding rings or sentimental rings to the professionals. This is perfect for cheaper sterling silver fashion rings that are a bit too tight after gaining a few pounds but not worth a jeweler's time. It works best for sterling silver or gold filled rings. Never use it on plated metal and pot metal may not stretch.

The measurements are put on by a sticker so if it's off... well it's wrong. The ring size gauge is not a full circle but the flat parts do not make it a problem. Your jewelry will still turn out circular. That being said the ring size gauge is already getting scratched up your and nicked. I figure it is only a matter of time for that to start rubbing off the dashes for the measurements. It is not a sturdy heavy metal if you are trying to use the hammer to get dents out of the ring. The gauge will nick.
