The pink sword got stuck open and the back fell off.The black sword got stuck open and the back fell off.Don't think they are 3d printed, they look and feel like normal molding glued together.Kid still loved them and with some super glue I was able to fix.

These swords look fairly real considering they are plastic and a single color. They are very light weight so they can be used by all ages and used for all kinds of things: cosplay, props, Halloween, general kids toys, and yes fidgeting.They are fun to swing out and do so fairly well. I did notice that each sword extended when swung; however, it would not 100% fully extend, requiring a very small tug to fully get it extended. That being said, I would say it extended about 98%, nothing to complain about, and it remained in place. Perhaps more repetitions may help it slide more easily. But it absolutely works.Retracting is pretty easy. Just push the individual sections down with a bit of a push and wah-lah. The pink one was a bit stubborn getting the last section to fully retract, but after fidgeting with it, one forceful push got it retracted and did it began retracting easily after that. I think these are well constructed for the value here and are worth trying if you are looking for toy swords.Fun little toys. I think more suited for kids and costume play though than fidgeting.

Plastic is of a good quality, can't tell it's 3d printed. Feels good in the hand.I swung each one open with a moderate force so that they'd stay until I tried to collapse them. The black one's tip section locked open and required a rubber mallet to get it to collapse again ; unfortunately this also damaged the blade. (It's worth noting that my efforts to close it before the rubber mallet damaged several OTHER things - that tip is pretty solid.)The pink one had a different section lock open in the same way, and again I needed a rubber mallet to collapse it, but it at least didn't break it.So with both of them only working once and requiring tools to close ... I can't suggest these.
