I’m not a skilled, experienced bookbinder. However, the tools in this starter kit are a good start for anyone who is trying to get their feet wet in this craft. There are other, more complete or high end up set ups, to be sure. But this one here is just fine for a casual bookbinder or beginner who doesn’t yet know how dedicated they will be, or maybe someone who has misplaced one of their tools. My opinion is based not upon vast personal experience, but rather kits that are advertised and sent to my email by companies who cater to the serious bookbinder artisan, or artisan wannabe. From those adverts, I’d opine that this little kit is a bare bones starter set for a kid or another type of person who isn’t sure which direction to go in.

This is a great starter kit. The day I got it I bound my first notebook. It had everything I needed. There were some great videos on YouTube that I followed along with. I consider even binding a sketchbook to use.

I've been collecting bookbinding tools for the past several months, leading up to some more complex projects in the queue. Jupean Book Binding Kits 24 Pcs had some items that I really needed and didn't have.The snips are snippy, the thread is waxy. The awl is pointy, the needles are sharp. This kit has an extra bone folder I didn't yet have so I am glad for the additional tool. There are two needle threaders, which will certainly come in handy. I haven't tried the ribbon yet.Good basics to have. I'm ready for those more complex bookbinding projects now!
