This is a great stand that's versatile, practical, takes up very little space and is easy to transport.

Ich habe lange etwas leichtes und praktisches speziell für die Reise mit meinen akustischen Gitarren gesucht.Natürlich bedeutet leicht auch, dass diese nicht wie ein 2kg Ständer stabil steht, also für die Bühne wohl ehernicht die richtige Wahl.Dafür ist der Ständer sehr kompakt; sowohl offen als auch zusammengeklappt. Auch die vielen kleinen Detailssind sehr gut durchdacht (Tiefenverstellung der Halter um die Aufnahme der Gitarre an die Breite des Korpus anzu-passen. Alles sehr praktisch zusammenfaltbar! Meiner Meinung nach perfekt durchdacht!Vorteil ist auch die Höhe vom Boden, da darf auch mal das Anschlusskabel dran bleiben ohne dass der Steckergleich auf dem Boden aufsetzt (ärgerlich wenn man dadurch den Anschluss der Gitarre womöglich beschädigt).Die Idee mit den "Verhüterlie's" finde ich ausgezeichnet auch wenn ich diese für meine Gitarren erst mal nichtbenötige, da ohne NC.Meiner Meinung nach ist der Preis somit völlig gerechtfertigt.

I was looking for a portable stand to fit an open-back tenor banjo. After reading reviews on a number of products and looking at the designs, I settled on this K&M Memphis (Ultra Lightweight) Compact Guitar Stand as being the most likely to properly support the beast. I was not disappointed.The adjustable support arms are straight - no odd kinks or bends that would be a bad fit for some instruments. Same with the back - nice and straight unlike some other portable stands. That's important with the open-back banjo, because with a compact travel stand like the Memphis, you don't have any neck support and few places where the banjo actually rests on the stand. Just for grins I tried it with my acoustic folk guitar (Yamaha FG720S dreadnought), and it fits perfectly with the arms most of the way out (with the banjo the arms are almost all the way in).The support arms fold up next to the legs, and there was some thought put in to the adjustment mechanism so that it holds its position even when stored - instant setup wherever you go! The bottom "feet" also fold up and fit on either side of the rear leg for serious portability.The padding material on the stand is some kind of plastic, not rubber. K&M says it's safe for nitrocellulose finishes, though they recommend you store your instrument in its case rather than on the stand. I found the material a bit harder than I expected (I'm used to foam or rubber stand padding, I guess) - a slightly rubbery plastic, relatively thinly coating the support arm tops (with some wrap-around just to be sure) but more generous at the leg joint where your instrument back will be resting.As mentioned, this stand is short - not really up to holding something that's top-heavy. (I wouldn't use it, e.g., for a cello stand.) And it's probably not for a well-traveled area where your instrument is going to be bumped a lot; if you want ultra-stable, you probably shouldn't be looking at ultra-lightweight stands anyway. The construction seems nice and durable. I'd buy another one if I played the guitar more frequently...
