I have two to three dozen Kasa and Tapo products but this was my first light.I wanted to be able to mimic the day light (turn on soft white before sunrise, brighten after sunrise, switch to daylight white during the day, etc. but the app makes this very hard to do.First off, picking your colors in the Kasa. You have a color wheel and that's all, you can't enter color codes or adjust RGB or anything. Why does this matter? If you have multiple Kasa lights, you'll have a VERY hard time getting them all to the same color with a color wheel. The Tapo app shows you the color code but you can't enter your own color code.Also, you ONLY get 5 preset colors with brightness's predefined or effects (xmas, flashing, etc.).The effects (flashing, changing colors, themes) are limited, you can only create your own custom effect by editing one of their predefined effects and you have very little control, only speed + colors.If you wanted to set your lights to turn on with Christmas colors every year around Christmas, you can't with this app.If you wanted your lights to change colors throughout the day, you're limited to 5 predefined colors + brightness.If you wanted to buy multiple Kasa lights, all of the same model, and have them all show a specific color light on all of them, good luck with that. You'll need to use the Tapo app and try to match the color code.The only surprisingly good thing that I discovered with this light is that it has energy monitoring. It has the basic version of monitoring, you see how long and how much energy in a day, 7 days, and 30 days. There's no graph or chart, you can't see previous day's usage, you can't go back in history. Kasa has multiple energy monitoring plugs and depending on which you buy, you'll get detailed usage or basic usage :(Overall, the light works, it does have many colors, and it does have energy monitoring. The app is the biggest weak point. Ksasa and Tapo have been making smart lights for a long time now so I'm disappointed that their apps are so basic.

I got these after moving from my old place because I wanted to have to ability to set the mood in my bedroom.The installation is pretty straightforward and easy. However I have a huge problem with the connectivity, so the way it works is with the Kasa App, and it’s fine but where I live the internet is not very stable so controlling the settings on the app can be very annoying because of how slow it is, imagine trying to set the lights from a deep blue to red and the whole thing starts changing colors like crazy and finally set to pink…Before getting this strip I had some cheap ones from AliExpress which worked way better than the Kasa ones, let me explain.The AliExpress strip had: 1. A physical remote which made fine tuning the lights very easy2. I had two strips and each strip could be set to have a different color and brightnessSo to be honest, the Kasa strip is okay, I’m very sure you can find better, but if you don’t have a choice, buy the Kasa one.

These strips work awesome and I love that I can make it compatible with Google home. The app is beautiful and user friendly. Easy to put together. Just line up the arrows like the instructions say or it won't turn on if the strip is backwards from the plug. Doesn't come with attachments for splitting you need to buy those seperately. This does come with a plug and ace adapter. The adapter has a manual button to turn on and off if you do t want to use the app.

Llevo 2 días usando las luces, no será mucho pero realmente me fascinaron, son de buena calidad y su función con Google home y Alexa son excelente, sin fallos ni retrasos.

The bad things you should know: 1. After a month one strip has already a dead "pixel" (one of the LED stuck on green color so I have always bright green dot on the strip).2. The brightness is not great. I put it in my solarium as perimeter square and it intended to be an additional light source when put to pure white color. So on its 100% brightness it's weak.3. While these LED strips are no different of others on the market TP-LINK though made the connectors purposely different from the standard the others use across the board. Usually a strip has a female and out of controller it's a male connector. Well here it's the opposite. So you can't use strips other than TP-Link with their controller. So here comes #4...4. Actually to be able just control your led strip from the same app (as other smart switches I have) all I needed is just their controller for wifi and account connectivity. But by having opposite connectors they push you to use it with only their bad quality led strips paying double price comparing to similar products (considering I've bought all TP-Link smart devices only when they had big discounts, never full price but yet the price is double).5. The app is not that smart and very limited not being actively developed. Feature requests are ignored for years (yes I wrote one as many others did on their website and they floating there forever without any attention). You are limited to only 3 smart actions active at a time. So if you want for example to turn it on by a schedule and set a specific mode or color among other smart devices, then turn it off by other schedule you've used already 2 out of 3 available action for all devices you might have and left with only 1 more smart action. You want to set it to another color by other schedule? That's it! you've used all 3 actions. I have many different smart switches, dimmers and color led bulbs and I forced to set schedules individually for each device instead of smart action for a group of them just because of this stupid software limitation. Imagine you want to reprogram them to a different time, mode or color - go one by one again. Tons of time instead one smart actions which uses a smart scene for group of devices. You may group your devices but these groups can't have schedules and besides to use it turn on/off manually they are useless.The good: It works as promised, was easy to install and add to the app and account. I had no issue with it's glue but I bought aluminum rails for LED strips to put it in. There it sticks perfectly.
