The Schwinn name has sunk low into Chinese quality - and with it - its components. The “Tourney” line of Shimano derailures is the bottom of the barrel, as many have already found out the hard way.The GTX 2.0 Hybrid bike I bought for my wife last Fall has not yet been rode - due to the front derailure not being capable to span all 3 chain rings with successful engagement, (sufficient to hold even MOST rear wheel gears - for peddling). Not wanting to “break” the new bike chain, I was hoping to find a replacement unit that employed a screw (or other method) allowing the front derailure replacement (like the older models did) without breaking the chain. Before everyone cries “sissy” - yelling - “its not that big a deal” - why don’t you use common sense? A single screw and nut (or threaded fastener) on the cage plate would make a 30 second task out of this!It has nothing to do with “manhood” or mechanical ability. This is solely the case where the mfgr is using a CHEAPER fastener (a rivet) to save a penny - while causing the bicycler to use the special tool AND break apart the chain - AS WELL AS compromising the integrity of a new, undisturbed assembly (no matter how “good” you are). When I read the questions and reviews looking for a good quality unit that DOES NOT require chain breaking - THIS ONE CLAIMED BOTH.Well sorry to report that THIS DERAILURE REQUIRES CHAIN BREAKING.Therefore - whether it shifts great - or not - I don’t recommend it. If one aspect in its advertising is based on lies, chances are THE ENTIRE UNIT is too.So I dont trust it - regardless.

Installed on a 24 speed bicycle. The width of the rails are perfect for no chain rub indexing . Great price for a high quality product.

Arrived in one day (Prime). It's not yet installed. The design is different, cable pull from the top or bottom. It looks okay, but it's for my winter bike, so it will be rust and prolly in the recycle bin by April. Seems like a good buy, as long as it keeps working for a few brutal Central Ontario winter months.
