Did not work at all. Toilet could still fully open despite trying to reposition several times. Sent it back and hoping I get refunded.

I bought this toilet lock because my little guy loves seeing what he can get into the toilet and because my toilet was VERY similar to the product picture. This particular lock is a very simple design and is a breeze to install. The problem is the 3M strip that is used to attach this lock to the toilet lid is not strong enough to do the job. I placed this lock on and gave it the recommended 24 hours to cure and I gave it a little test after about an hour and it seemed to work ok. However, the next day I had to go to the bathroom and I completely forgot that this was on there and when I pulled up on the toilet seat this thing went flying off. It's not like I was pulling the seat up with all my might or anything, I just gave it a healthy pull with enough force (the kind of force my son can generate) to completely dislodge this lock. AND after one time of putting this on the toilet seat the glue on that sticky strip is completely maxed out and you're not going to get another good stick. I love the design of this lock and the ease of use, but the sticky on this should not have given out after one day of use. The product has potential, but the lock that I got was total crap. I absolutely would not buy another lock like this again.

I love this product... so far. As a new parent, you purchase so much stuff you think will help you throughout the child-raising period or you've had friends/family recommend certain things. Truth is, you often have to just find out the hard way... some stuff works and some doesn't. I was surprised to see how really few and innovative toilet locks there are out there. When it comes to this particular child safety device, I figured simple was better. So far, it's proven to be the case. There are some wacky, lever devices that I initially purchased, only to return, since the whole installation/function seemed way too problematic for the purpose. So far, this device has worked great for us. I would have given it 5 stars had I not had some reservations about the adhesive. So many of these adhesive-type devices fail over time so I'm reserving the final start if and when this device is still holding strong after another six months.
