These worked exactly as expected! They are inexpensive but still of great quality. They performed wonderfully and got the job done without any issues. I’m very satisfied with this purchase and would definitely buy them again.

I'm using it for a small aquaculture system. I have a 55 gallon drum mounted above the fish tank (the bottom of the drum is 2' higher than the top of the fish tank). I mix the de-chlorinating compound into tap water in the drum as I fill it, then use water from the fish tank to feed and water my garden. When the fish tank go low, I was using a siphon to refill it, and yes, about ever 3rd time I would forget about the siphon and the entire 55 gallon drum would drain into the tank, overflowing it and wasting 40 gallons of water. I installed this using the pipe thread. I attached a hose barb to that and clear poly hose to this valve that went to the siphon starter ( a jiggler) in the 55 gallon drum.Unfortunately, the opening in the valve is so small, I could not get the siphon started with it. So, I had to add a tee, another fitting, and a 1/2" PVC valve to the setup so I could open the line at the bottom to get a siphon started. It's kind of a pain, but this actually does seem to work. Once the siphon is going, the valve stops it when the tank is full. It also holds the siphon very well, So it just automatically keeps the tank full while I use water from it.Note: The flow is very low volume. If I use 10 gallons of water from the tank, it will be an hour or so before it is refilled. I do also recognize that there is a possibility that this valve could fail in the open position, but the water going into it is perfectly clean, so I think that will be rare. In my setup, the worst that can happen is the 55 gallon drum just continues to drain until it is empty and then no more water will be lost. I can take that chance. So far, so good.I had no trouble installing it, it is a robust part. Anyone who broke it was doing something wrong, or had a faulty unit to begin with. I think the plastic is good solution, as it can't corrode. For gravity feed like this, it's just fine. One thing I might do, in order to fix the low flow, they sent me two of these. I could tee the line again and run two valves to the tank. That would double the flow. For right now, it is great. Oh, yes, and it only took the normal amount of teflon tape to seal the hose bib pipe fitting on.

We've tried a few different several other float valves for our dog's auto water bowl. This is the only that that was very easy to install, connects securely to the garden hose without any leak, and the float valve closes correctly to stop the water flow completely so that the water doesn't spill over. Very happy with this product!!!
