Great product. It came in its original packaging, impeccable and with all the components. Truly remarkable and would recommend to anyone looking for a good quality product.

It has a big enough motor (500 watts) so that it will (I hope!) NOT burn out any time soon, even kneading heavy rye bread dough. It's quieter than I expected, and easy to clean. I won't address its price, as I bought it using years' worth of accumulated credit card points, which is to say I paid nothing. There's a bit of play in the bowl support, but Kitchen Aid assured me that's normal. For now I'll be using it to make bread. Next I hope to move on to cookies. I'm quite happy with it.

This is an incredible mixer. The attachments, in particular are truly impressive and "cut" through ingredients effectively and effortlessly. The motor is basically silent. If you follow the instructions with the bread hook, you will be happy. The paddle efficacy is top notch. I have three mixers. Two of these and an Ankarsrum. I always default to the KitchenAid 8 Quart, even over the Ankarsrum. Now, the bad. There is the famous DC motor mechanism clicking which is real. I think it's somehow how the attachments need to have silicone or something buffer how they attach but I am not an engineer. It does not impact performance. Sometimes you have to use your hands to hold the bowl in place until the mixer stabilizes when it's doing "clumpy" dough. Overall, it's great. Be prepared to return if you get a unit where the paddle attachment scrapes the bowl (even after recommended adjustments), or if there are finish defects or if the motor is making noise from day one. I have also had one that refused to use Speed 4. Amazon is great. Cooks Direct - not so great - so be prepared to speak to an Amazon Supervisor. When I had a problem with a 7 day old unit, Cooks Direct sent me a PDF of the warranty. So just call Amazon. One star rating based on inconsistency in manufacturing.Update (11/18/2023):This is the Contour Silver model. I also have the 8 quart in the Dark Pewter. I would steer clear of the Contour Silver. I don't have a single scratch or finish issue on my Dark Pewter model and it's now 4 years old. But the Contour Silver has so many scratches and bad paint areas that I just can't recommend it and I am super careful with all my kitchen gear. Stick with the Dark Pewter - a much more durable finish.
