First of all, the Amazon description listed for this product is incorrect on many levels. Yes, it does say two speakers in a box but that's not what you get. You only get one speaker. It's the size of a 5-year-old child at about 40 lbs per speaker. If you're new to buying stereo equipment in the last decade or so, you will find the manual a bit sparse. I would go to Crutchfield's website to learn more about how to set up your system and knowing what HiF and LoF connections are on the back of your speakers. Also, no wires come with the speakers (which after learning more, makes sense because it doesn't come with a receiver nor amplifier so it won't know what your wiring needs are). Therefore, anticipate having to buy wires as well.I had a different experience than everyone else with these speakers... at first I only got one speaker and I paired it with one of my existing speakers and I thought the sound output was weak but had adequate bass generating capabilities. Also, I had used a 12 gauge wire of which my stereo really couldn't handle with the spring loaded terminals. So I decided to get some smaller size wire (18 and 16 gauge). The 18 gauge wire didn't really sound impressive but the 16 gauge one that Amazon sells and makes (or puts their name on) really made a difference in the power/sound. After some trimming of the wire and playing with it again the next day... for whatever reason the sound and power from this unit really seem boosted. So if you're having some issue in buyer satisfaction I would simply play around with the speaker wires a bit and see if you get lucky.I've been breaking in the speaker by playing it continuously with different songs recommended on a website and I swear this seems to be helping over a very short period of time. I really don't recognize these speakers from yesterday. These speakers have a decent midrange but could stand to be assisted in this area by other options. The bass is amazing for most listening experiences, this is not really a speaker set you would use to try to get to those super low bass thumping frequencies in a souped-up car. But is definitely something substantial while enjoying Queen's "Another One Bites the Dust". Maybe not enough bass for Jermih's/50 Cent "Down on Me" in the intro part where there's a background bass drop- you would need a subwoofer to hear that... but the rest of the song is definitely heavily bassed up with these speakers. Killers' "Andy, You're A Star" I think you could benefit with a subwoofer or maybe a system where you can adjust the equalizer settings independently and not like my very old bookcase system with preformatted equalizer settings like Rock, Pop, Jazz, etc. My ultimate test for good bass quality sound is Counting Crows "Mr. Jones" and I think this handles the separation and clarity of the bass line in the introduction beautifully. Could still benefit from a subwoofer but at least you know it's not muddy such that you can't hear the separation. The sound on these speakers are definitely warmer than maybe some of Jamo's entry level speakers, sometimes leaving me desiring the Klipsch horn speakers where you may get more of the midrange sound but this definitely balances out more of the V shape sound that you would get with entry level Jamo speakers. BTW C 95 ii plays Smokey Robinsons' "Cruisin' " quite beautifully and nearly perfectly! Chris Botti albums sound good and this does do justice to many live recordings like Eagles "Hotel California" Live from Inglewood, CA... but the latter is where I feel that's where Klipsch exceeds in- live performances.I'm happy with these speakers. I'm curious what the C 97 delivers compared to the C 95... but I'm not willing to spend that much to figure it out. I'm not a true audiophile but I am picky about sounds and I bought this to try to help bring some clarity to my more than 20 years old bookshelf stereo. IMHO, I think stereos and speakers made these days do not sound as good as yesteryear. But these speakers did bring more power to the sound with very little distortion when the volume is increased, especially the bass end and more clarity in the lower frequency range. If I didn't get these for the pricing I did, I would have returned them just because the OEM speakers for my stereo are actually quite decent and I couldn't justify spending close to $500 for these speakers considering I paid maybe $60 for my stereo system 20+ years ago. Maybe with newer stereos/receiver/amplifiers these speakers become really noteworthy? I do enjoy the esthetics of these speakers and happen to like the height of them as they go perfectly with where they are placed in my home and seem to be less imposing than a taller tower system.

I have been loving these towers and the rear bookshelf speakers, the higher frequencies are some of the best I've heard but the mid/lower end lacks some punch (in the 200-600hz range or so). But it's nothing that will ruin your experience, and for the price you can't expect perfection, right? If I could give sound quality a 4.5 I would. These also get super super loud and do it extremely clearly, even over 100dbThese also sounds amazing watching movies also!l, No Ragrets!

I have a Technics SA 700 monster receiver and these speakers easily take all that the 700 can deliver. At volume level 6, the paint started pealing off my walls ... in a good way. I love the purchase. No buyers remorse here.
