Son mini hielitos y no rinden, se derriten dentro de la misma maquina se me descompuso en menos de 2 meses y ya no pude regresarla

I needed to supplement my refrigerator's ice maker which is temperamental and sometimes won't make ice. I had a different ice maker which made nugget ice which melts very quickly. I loved that this makes small, solid cubes which last longer in my beverage. The ice is made into bricks of cubes which have to be broken up with a knife, but overall that's a minor inconvenience to have cubed ice on hand.

I was initially going to return this item, but after I read the description, I had no basis for returning it.You have to actually break up the ice as it falls into the flimsy plastic basket. Be careful, you could break it because the ice is so hardSo today, I’m making more ice and all of a sudden this machine starts making a wicked sound, nothing like I’ve heard it make since I bought it.It sounded like a fan belt on a car was going bad and I started hearing grinding sounds.Guess what, I missed the return window by eight days otherwise, back to Amazon it would’ve went.I have no recourse here so I’m stuck with it. Into the trash it’s gonna go but before I do that, I’m going to see if I can gut it out and make a flower pot out of it because that’s about all it’s good for.One thing I have learned about these countertop, icemakers, you get what you pay for.I’m going to buy another one, but I’m going to make sure it’s an American made brand-name, which is going to cost me a lot more money than these economy ice makers .I should’ve known something was wrong when I started reading the instructions, and it was filled with typos.

Hasta ahora ha estado funcionando excelente. No me gusta el hielo de refri y llevaba años comprando bolsas diario, ya que, me gustan mis bebidas con mucho hielo todo el año. Esta funciona de maravilla! Los hielos no salen con ese sabor a refrigerador que odio y quedan con un tamaño y textura similar al hielo de Starbucks. Yo vacío aproximadamente 1 galón de agua en la máquina y en 20 mins salen los primeros hielos. Estos pueden quedarse en la máquina, manteniéndose por horas en un calor de +40°C en Monterrey, o los pasas a tu congelador fácilmente quitando la bandeja si así lo quieres. Ruido? Sí, un poco pero muy similar a cualquier refri y es probable que si vive en un departamento chico el ruido de donde cae el hielo le moleste.

I wondered how these ice makers work, so here's a quick explanation for others:There is a grid of aluminum squares that gets ice cold. The machine pumps water across it like a waterfall and ice forms in layers. I'm not sure how it determines when the ice is large enough to toss into the bucket, but it does! The "bucket" is not solid, it has slots at the bottom to allow water to drain down into the base of the machine - the same place where the waterfall ends - and gets sucked up again in the waterfall process. You can time how long you want it run.I did an experiment to see how well the ice performed. I poured in two 16 oz bottles of water, then made one batch and put it in a 16 oz solo cup. I filled the entire thing with no room for more. I poured in juice and sat to enjoy it while the machine kept running. Each time it made a batch of ice - about 10 mins - I hopped up and put it in a gallon freezer bag in my freezer. It made 5 more batches from the two bottles of water - a total of 6 batches, or 6 full 16 oz cups. When it finished in about an hour, I still had 1/4 cup of liquid in my cup, and the ice cubes had melted to about 1/3 their size. The juice did not seem overly diluted - about what I'd expect from the ice from a refrigerator unit.So, I'd say this is totally worth it - as long as it "knows" when the ice is finished. I don't know if that is just a timer, or if it is triggered when the get a certain size, but I'd say any vulnerability is in that mechanism, as that is the new technology.I'm hoping this will last - that's always the issue in our world, as the current business process of "make it to brake it" doesn't support longevity. That way they can sell us 2 year insurance plans, and we sill buy something in 4 or 5 years anyway. No wonder there is stuff in landfills...

Muy buena calidad, los materiales son buenos y se siente muy resistente. Tarda 15 mins en empezar a hacer hielo. No es necesario integrarle el garrafón. El depósito interno de agua es bastante amplio.
