I've bought many pairs of these over the years. Most are top quality. A few occasionally have a bit of the strap nylon cut too long down into the foot where it's secured in the shoe. The result is a tiny bit of scratchy nylon that rubs a hole in my foot over the course of a few hours of wear. It's pretty awful for an otherwise awesome shoe.

I have owned many different models of Sportiva rock climbing shoes over the years. I like them because they fit my narrow foot. This is the first, & only, shoe of theirs that I didn't like - it didn't fit my foot in the toe box. Note: most of their shoes that I have owned have been lace-ups. I bought a pair of Testerossas that fit me like a glove (that fits).

Awesome performance. The rubber toe is awesome for jamming and the heal pocket keeps my whole foot in place.I'd been wearing the 41.5 5.10 Anasazis for over a year before I decided to try a new shoe. The Anasazis perform well, but the fit wasn't quite right. My feet are kind of skinny and pretty flat; the Solution's heel pocket helps keep my feet in place while they used to slide forward in the Anasazis. I just took the Solutions outdoors for the first time this weekend and they were awesome. Size 41.5 is a little big for gym climbing, but they are perfect for climbing outdoors when my feet swell. If you wear a 41.5 in 5.10 sizing (particularly Anasazis, I'm assuming their other shoes have a similar fit) I would probably try getting Solutions in a 41.

I really like how these shoes fit my feet. I recommend finding a size that feels right, and then purchasing something slightly smaller as these shoes do stretch.Pros:- excellent heel support for hooks- great for stepping on small holds- awesome for roofs- Velcro strap makes it easy to take on and off between climbs- leather molds to the shape of your footCons:- smearing is not so great (if you want to climb slab, go for the sportiva testarossa instead)- the break-in period is pretty painful, but necessary as they do stretch and you don't want to get a size that feels right initially as it will get too big.- rubber doesn't last that long (I've never found a shoe with rubber that lasts long)
