This product does not fit, do to the square float, and bottom electrical connections on mounting plate not sealed will create leaks

I bought this for my Roadstar Silverado and after almost a year of messing with it I’ve given up. It has done nothing but leak no matter what I do. I DO NOT RECOMMEND BUYING…..

The float on new sending unit is SQUARE, the original float is OVAL which you can see in the pictureI posted. So if you need sending unit for the 2005 Yamaha 1700 Road Star Midnight Silverado make sure the new float is OVAL SHAPED. Giving one star because it will not fit bike as posted and I cant leave 0 stars.

I can't speak to weather it works properly when installed, it worked properly when testing the connection on the bike. The problem came in when trying to I sent it onto the tank. 2004 yamaha roadstar midnight tank has an oval opening in the bottom of the tank. The float on this sending unit is square and would not fit through the oval opening.
